Maybe you're putting too much stock in who you hit in front of? I've already made the case that hitting in front of Cabrera may increase the pressure on Boesch, so it's possible that the positioning is a negative. Besides, if a pitcher knows somebody chases he's going to make him prove he's changed before just grooming the ball right down the middle.
I do agree with KC that Avila may be our best option at #2. Great obp, good pop that Leyland likes, not as fast as Boesch, but not a slug. If this continues to be an issue I bet Leyland gives him a look.
