Broyles Was Open

Hughes is mostly incorrect about Broyles....BUT!!! he is killing it with the negative nicknames. Damn those are funny.

Yeah those nicknames are hella funny. For a moment I forgot that the Tigers can't hit for nothing..

Broyles only has one drop. First in his career actually in many snaps. But the retards think he's trash because of it.

was his only target....he dropped 100% of his targets = worthless.

Broyles was open a couple of times yesterday - Staff missed him on a TD.

I think Broyles is gonna be fine. It's just a lot of players to spread the ball out to. I'd assume tall guys would get looks because of Staff not having trouble finding them, and he'd be prone to go to guys he was most comfortable getting the ball to. Then there's Broyles whose trying to get back to 100% and is short and hasn't been involved (for almost a year) because of injuries.

If he starts dropping passes that hit him on the numbers then I'd probably worry about him, but at this point I don't know that he could do anything to stand out from the other targets Stafford has. Shit, catching every ball thrown to him is probably gonna be the only way he can stand out lol.

I think it's the other way around. Short QB's have trouble seeing, not short wrs being seen. Wes welder has never had that problem. Seems like a weird excuse. I think it's more he's not getting snaps and not getting looked at when he's on the field. He has good hands and runs good routes he'll be fine he just needs to be on the field and have plays where he's a option.

Peyton Manning had the offseason to work with Welker, so Manning actually looks for him. Broyles hasn't been healthy enough to get any practice with Stafford outside of the season the last 2 years, so Stafford isn't comfortable throwing to him. Unless they work together a lot during the bye week, I don't expect Broyles to make a big difference until next year.

its more to do with scheme and his reads. An article a couple weeks ago mentioned something like on Broyles 33 snaps 14 of them he wasn't even an option. Throw in the fact we have so many other weapons, Bush out of the backfield, CJ is always going to get a look now that hes getting healthy, and staffs love affair with durham....broyles is like 5th or 6th option on most routes. Pretty awesome for a 2nd rd pick huh?

Welker runs 70% of his routes within 5 yards of the LOS....trust me if we were really trying to make broyles a focal point like welker....staff would be able to throw the ball 5 yards....hes made a career out of it the last couple years.
