Cabrera For MVP!

I don't buy the WAR stat. It is hard for me to believe that a superstar player is only worth 1 win a month. If you use that stat it says that the Tigers would win their division without Verlander or without Cabrera. I don't think so.

I like to look at

BA
RBI
HR
RBI
OPS
OBP
SB

when talking about the MVP. I like defense if one guy is just lights out in the field and the other is a bum. To me the award should be for the most outstanding player not the one who is valuable to his team. I think when the award was made the intention of the title was for the guy who was the Most Valuable Player to the league, not their individual team. I mean hell in the NBA if you take Granger away from the Pacers theyd be one of the worst teams in the league.,.with him they made the playoffs. That doesn't make him league MVP.

Unless you have like 150 RBI, I don't this state means much. I mean Grandy has more than Miggy but he isn't even leading their team. Conclusion, their team scores a lot of runs. SB state is almost worthless, speed is more valuable. HR, eh. I like the RISP, and RISP with two outs stats and what their production is with those numbers.

I think not I know lol....just my interpretation of the award that I don't think people give much thought to.

I don't think any one knows which is why its a mystery. Ask 10 voters and they'll give you ten different interpretations.
