Cabrera moving to...???

I think that it is a great move. Avila at third was a disaster, so that plan should be out. Cabrera to third has been my dream for years. Maybe we can be ingeless once and for all.

If Cabrera at third keeps inge on the bench during the World Series then Cabrera at third it is. It is not like Inge is gold glove caliber over there, no matter how many times Rod Allen says that he is.

only fitting, since Inge is the reason Cabrera played 1st to begin with.

Cabrera is playing first because Guillen was going to get killed playing firstbase in 2008. He was causing 2 near collisions a day there. It had nothing to do with inge. Guillen moved to third, Inge stayed on the bench and Cabrera moved to first. Then Guillen got hurt as usual and Leyland decided that we were going to stick with the .199 hitter in our line up for the next 4 years. What a disaster.

Or maybe their thinking about the offseason, and next year. Moving Cabby to third and trying to pick up Prince or Pujols to play first? Ya i know only a dream

You may have not be dreaming on Prince Fielder. It is no secret Mike Illitch really likes him. I know some people will laugh or say you can only have 2- 20 million dollar players. But Cabrera to 3rd and Prince at 1B gives us the most dangerous line up in baseball. It would almost certainly put the Tigers in the playoffs again, with power being such a premium in baseball right now.

Strange how one man's dream could be my nightmare. This isn't fantasy baseball guys, you still have to play some defense. Cabrera was brutal at 3rd when he first came here, there's no way they make a move that puts him there permanently.

If Cabrera looks average at 3B during the world series, look for the rumors a speculation fly.
Also with Maggs gone for 2012 Cabrera could be considered for RF or LF. The Sox hid Manny Ramirez in LF for years.

Illitch has a special place in his heart for Prince Fielder. If Prince wants to come to Detroit, Illitch will sign him.

You are correct, how easily I forgot that little episode.

You got that right...Inge is a bench player at best in 2012, he is an average 3B now with no stick. He will probably only make the playoff roster if he agrees to catch in an emergency

I definitely remember that. Guillen was the worst 1st baseman I have ever seen. He would straddle the bag like it was 2nd base. He was going to get himself killed playing there and he was going to take out an opposing team's runner as well. It was a car accident waiting to happen.

You are correct, how easily I forgot that little episode.
