Caldwell: Resigning Suh one of Lions highest priorities

I would put finding an o coordinator that knows what hes doing over resigning suh. Lombardi > Stafford is painful to watch.

Lombardi = Crap in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone find a GIF!!!!!

I say we keep Austin, if we can, and the rest of the coaches on both sides of the ball be QB guru coaches.

First you need Suh to want to be here. Who knows if he does or not. Maybe a 11-5 season and near playoff win changes his mind. But IMO I think he's long gone..

I would actually like to have Suh signed to a long term contract but I just don't see it happening. He's going to cost too much and I don't see him taking a hometown discount. We have too many areas of need to lock up so much in one player, we could probably solidify the entire O-line with the money he is going to demand.

Suh has the Lions by the balls. He will want JJ watt money from the Lions for him to stay. Bye-Bye you dirty P.O.S.!

Guys forget it. Suh costs too much and is too high of a liability with potential suspensions. Show the league we are not "that" team by dumping Raiola and Suh. Bring in more CJ type personality players, become a media darling. That's what the Lions must do in order to have a chance at the Super Bowl.

I would say not only can they bring in a ton of team talent for Suh's money, they can also adjust the money over to give Austin a ransom to stay. I'd rather keep Austin than Suh, even at $5M per year.

Only way Austin is going that I can imagine is for a head coaching position. There is nothing we can do about that. We can throw more money at him, but in the end if he wants a head coaching job he will take it regardless. He either gets a HC job or he comes back.

Then Watch Suh become the darling in another franchise... No thanks... You watch if you goes to a glamour team he will go from dirty to ' he is one tough SOB'
Before the Rodger stomp he had gone 32 games without a big incident.. He is trying...
The defense will take a huge step back without him...Frustrating as hell he cost so much now...But its going to suck to have play against him a lot if he is in the NFC

Exactly. I keep seeing "keep/bring back Austin" like the Lions have control over it. The Lions have zero say on Austin staying or going. None. If a team wants him as head coach, he's gone. Simple.

It's up to Suh and Austin really. Lions can offer a fair contract for Suh (Suh taking depends on him and how much greed he has) and obviously Austin depends on his interviews and other teams.

Back up plan should be Fairley (hoping he stays healthy finally) on a proper 2-3 year deal and an innovative DC that likes to disguise blitzes. Austin isn't the only good DC in the world.

he was actually labled the most charitable sports figure for last year. He could be a dumbass on the field....but he does a lot within the community/charity.

And he's the best defensive player on our team. The best DT in the game and one of the best players in all of football. Yet people want him gone...lol. Fkn priceless

Of course you want him gone!! More for you to cry about next year when Fairley is either hurt or gone. Then you'll be screaming bloody murder.
