Elite QB's to me are the ones who dominate the game, Rodgers, Brees, Brady (Peyton when healthy).

Eli is solid, but the Giants defense is what dominates on his team, not him.

Those 3 and a half guys I listed, are almost in a league of their own, and Eli is not close to that league.

Your OP was Stafford, Big Ben, or Rivers. He is better than all three of them. He also has more SB wins than 2 out of 3 in your new comparison. Granted, he is not statisically good during the regular season but at the end of the day, he wins and that is what counts in this league. He is an elite QB, is he the best? It is arguable is what I am pointing out.

After the the big four in Brees, Brady, Rodger, and a healthy Peyton, there is a significant drop off in talent.

Nobody else is close to being on their level.

They are the elite QBs.

First Inge is a GGer and other teams want him, now Eli is elite despite being, at the very best, the 5th best QB in the NFL while not even being close to the same tier as the 4 above him.

How many QBs are elite?

And overall, Eli's stats in the playoffs were good, not great.

Just looking at his numbers is a very ignorant way of judging his performance.

You should also consider the fact that 2 of the games came against the two worst pass defenses in the NFL.

The best pass defense he faced was San Fran, and they only had an average pass defense.

So overall, when you consider the quality of the defenses he played, his postseason stats weren't really that impressive, they were good yes, but only a fool would call them great.

And if you're not great, you're sure as hell not elite.

My OP never called Stafford, Big Ben, or Rivers "Elite".

I said they were better than Eli, I stand by that.

If I ranked them:
1 Brees
2 Rodgers
3 Brady
4 Peyton (if healthy)

(big drop off)

5 Big Ben
6 Stafford
7 Rivers
(slight drop off)
8 Romo
9 A. Smith
10 Eli

honestly, id put stafford above big ben. he can be downright awful at times and like eli has the benefit of a generally great defense to help carry the team. id agree hes better than the rest of the list though.

You having Alex Smith above Eli pretty much tells me you have no idea what you are talking about.
