Calvin or Suh

Normally I'd agree but not in this case. We brought in new coaches, coordinators and schemes to both sides of the ball. We went from a losing team, with a losing culture to being a controversial call away from getting a playoff W in year 1. Watching this team play, seeing a more disciplined football team, a team that never gave up, believed and a top ranked D, I'd say it was a success. Look at where we were last year at this time as a team compared to where we are now. Things are pointing up. As a Lion, that's a success.

Put it this way, the defense was a success. The offense not so much.

Agree but...The offense put together a late drive to beat ATL in London, put together drives to come back and steal a win against Brees and Stafford hit Reddick late to beat Mia. Did the D contribute to all those games? Of course, but Stafford and the offense made plays late in games to come out victorious. Games the Lions lost in previous years, we won this year. We made the playoffs and according to not only Det fans but football fans across the Nation, got robbed in round 1.

Most didn't even think we'd be in playoffs. We exceeded outside the organization expectations. How's that not success? This was one of the few years I've been proud to say I'm a Lion!

Against weaker .500 teams at home. Mostly. We made the playoffs mostly because of the defense. Can Matt do well against weaker competition at home, sometimes. Can Matt do well against good competition on the road, no. His numbers say he's not very good. 11 wins is better if you beat GB in their place and take the division or against Dallas at their place and win a playoff game.

Otherwise it's same ole same ole.

I'd rather have Suh, the D revolves around him. We can still win without Calvin, we proved it this year. CJ is getting old and drops alot, fuck on second thought get rid of him and Stafford, lets see how Moore does.

He still got a 1000 yards with missing 3 and parts of two. Plus with Tate as the one, he gets double teamed, making it much harder for him. Plus Ross gets moved up. So the game changes when CJ's out..Tate is not a one.

Tate is a one. He can actually make people miss after catching the ball. CJ manages to make an unbelievable catch out of a horrible throw from our average QB but is down shortly afterward. We can find someone other than Ross for #2. Facts are facts CJ isn't having the impact he did a couple years ago. Suh still drives this D.

He doesn't get doubled much so you can't say he's a one. He got 1300 yards partly because Calvin is on the other side..I'd love to see CJ singled covered like Tate gets, he might get 3000 yards. The reason he goes down is because they're all over him. Tate catches a pass in the open and can make people miss..Double team Tate with a 3rd as a spy and he's a totally different player.

He's good but he's not a one. And he's not better than Calvin..

Here are Tate's numbers with Calvin hurt or missing the game. I think Calvin hurt himself against the Jets.

Jets: 8 catches for 116 yards (CJ 2 for 12)
Buffalo: 9 for 134 (CJ 1 for 7)
Minnesota: 7 for 44 (CJ didn't play)
NO: 10 for 154 (CJ didn't play)
Atlanta: 14 for 151 (CJ didn't play)
Miami: 11 for 109 (CJ returns 7 for 113)

He put up big numbers in all but one of those games.

Don't forget we have Eric Ebron to take coverage off of Tate if he's our number 1. Tony said so.

Well hopefully Ebron will improve from his first season to his second... We can only hope...

Suh's getting better, CJs declining, easy decision. Find a way to keep Suh, and keep building that defense. Draft Staffords replacement next year, find a good runningback

You can't do anything with CJ now..he makes too much freakin' money. As far as Suh, unless you tag him..not a good idea. We don't know if Suh even wants to be here .. so long term will probably not a reality.

He still doesn't get double team. We know he can pile up the yards. You listed 6 games, 3 in which CJ played as well. Even when he was mainly a decoy for a couple of those he was double teamed.

And you need your one scoring more than 4 TD's. Even limp-a-long Calvin had 8 TD's. And averaged more YPC. Tate is not a one, he's a good compliment. Last 8 games, 1 TD. Not a threat in the Red Zone.

That's not what i said, dummy. I never said anything about Tate being a #1. Ebron runs better than your average TE. A lot of deep routes and seam routes....pulling coverage off certain players like Calvin and Tate. Calvin said it too at the beginning of the year. Was Ebron a dissappointment? Sure was, but he was on par with most rookie TEs anyways. Most of you retards probably want EE cut now because you expected All Pro numbers lol.

No, we wanted him to do something that would help the team once in awhile. Rookie TE's, maybe but at 10 we were expecting more. At 10 you should expect better numbers.

Of course we all wanted him to put up better numbers. He didn't. Doesn't mean he's a bust just yet. You go look at some rookie TEs that have made a name for themselves and EE was on par with them. Can't toss him over the railing just yet...

Never called him a bust just wish he had helped the team more..

Shady McCoy is due $12mil this year from Phi...What's worst, paying an elite RB $12mil or an elite DT $20mil?
