Carolina 3 Detroit 1 Final

Rebuild is one thing not getting them ready for period 2 after being destroyed in period 1 is the big problem.

This franchise has been in a nosedive over the past 10 years...even a shiny new state of the art home facility hasn't stopped their downward plunge.

But, and this is only my opinion, I see more young talent than I've seen in a very long time. That's enough for me to have hope within 2-3 years.

5 years ago, Mrazek was the 'hot' sure thing in net, at this point the Wings don't have a #1 for the foreseeable future, unless they extend Howard which they shouldn't.

Forward wise the roster is pretty much same as last 2 seasons.

Gotta dump guys like Helm/Abdelkader to make room for the kids.

Its about time that the D started getting called up but the likes of Ericsson gonna be keeping a spot for a while.

If this was 1998 instead of 20 years later, this Red Wings forum would be far more active.

Forward wise we have some potential good players in Grand Rapids. Forward wise the youth looks betters than I've seen in some time. I wasn't just referring to the Wings roster but the future Wings roster.

Yes, we need a goalie but the youth is still exciting and the next two years could be fun.

I mean future seemed bright with Jarnkork, Pulkkinen (before even Goose/Tats) .

We'll see how these guys develop, but Blashill is not the guy to coach this team. He couldn't motive the team when they had Pav and Z. Now with both being gone its showing even more. During the entire reign of Blashill the team had obvious motivational issues.

I agree with needing a new coach but is Holland the guy to get the right one? And yes these young guys could all fail but it beats not having those young guys.
