Get StartedYou're too hung up on Berry's stolen bases, which was all he did last year.

Aside from his unsustainable BAbip in the first 25 games or so, he was every bit as bad at the plate as Boesch, Kelly, Raburn, Santiago, Worth, etc., and leading the league in clapping won't get him on the team.
He's a low walk/high strikeout guy, and the fact he's a good base stealer is moot if he wont be on base much. Ajax does not steal a lot but is 10x as valuable as Berry.
I can't see how our bullpen is a major concern.
The biggest issue is the lack of a designated closer, which has been talked to death, we don't need one.
Who do you like in the pen? Coke sucks, Dotel is older than dirt and Benoit gives up a HR in what seems like every other game. I like Al Al but he isn't consistant. BV is also very unproven and Rondon can't find the strike zone.
Coke is a lefty specialist and should be used only as such.
Dotels age is irrelevant. Benoit gave up 14 HR's in 73 games, not exactly every other day, while striking out 10.6/9 IP.
Al Al, and BV are pretty capable.
Below, Smyly and somewhat Downs are all proven long/middle/SP lefties.
If Rondon is not ready, we leave him in Toledo, not that big of a deal.
Our main concerns (as I see them) are Catcher position and IF defense. Catcher because if Avila goes down, we're screwed. And IF defense because the errors on the IF always seem to come back to haunt us by starting a rally for the other team.

The same was said about Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Jacob Turner.
I'm for giving the kid a chance to grow into something special, rather than have him in a platoon role with Dirks (because that's all it would be) and not get the AB's he needs to continue developing.
Castellanos still batting over .400
Unless he can play full time and I'm okay with that but as a platoon he should be back at AAA. Young guys need to play everyday.

Penciled in at LF in Toledo, got it.
Nope. He's a fn stud....
Why Toledo? Because of his age? Who gives a shit?? He's going to be special....
Welp, he is at least breathing down Dirks extremely long neck...
