Cavs 100 Pistons 98 Final Game # 4

Irving the new fucking asshole. Fun team to root against now for sure
Jackson needs to play better. Our guards well played badly.

I hope Miami beats the Cavs and I dislike them too lol.

The Cavs are too much for the Pistons. The Pistons need another scorer. Does Reggie play defense?

The announcers said last night, and I agree, this was one of the closer series sweeps you'll see. The Cavs are just the better, deeper team right now, but we played them tough in the series. Being an extremely young team, this season and playoff appearance should pay huge dividends in terms of development. We beat the "all time great" Warriors, went 3-1 against the Cavs, and split against Dallas and OKC in the regular season. These guys didn't back down from Lebron and the Cavs in this series either. I'd love to see these guys spend the offseason improving on their weaknesses, and for the organization to work on improving the roster and bench via the draft and free agency. If that happens, this team should continue to improve and become more competitive in the years ahead.

What a difference SVG has made since coming here. I'm liking what Gores does to make the games feel exciting, entertaining, and worth paying attention to once again.

Every team sans game 2 was really, really close. The team just has no clue on how to rise up and close out a better opponent.

They are in desperate need of a backup PG. Bleacher report has the Pistons taking Tyler Ulis. I like him, but he's TINY. Other sites say Caris LeVert, Diamond Stone.

They need a stretch 4 or 5 also. I think Denzel Valentine would be a great fit here. 15 minutes a game....good shooter....smart player....great passer....seems like he'd be an asset as a backup point.

He can't cover anyone....but maybe his size would disrupt smaller PG's.

I was anti-Denzel (and no, it's not because I'm a U of M slap) because I didn't really think he fit what this team needs. But I won't mind it all that much at this point after seeing the PG situation exposed against Cleveland.

They also need someone who can flat out shoot from three. No one really does that for this team right now. Quite honestly, they can draft anyone and it will fill a need.

They can't close out because AD sits because he can't make a free throw.

Yeah, that needs to be fixed. If they tell him that they will do nothing other than shoot 500 FTs a day, fine. The rest of his game is pretty solid. Drummond needs to get that to 50 percent or so.

I wouldn't be opposed to trying to sign someone like Jennings, Lawson, Williams (Deron or Maurice), Chalmers, or Lawson to be back-up PG here. Guys like Barnes (Harrison or Matt), Parsons, Batum, Turner, or Green (Jeff or Gerald) would be worth a look as FA SFs. I'd still love to see Markieff end up here somehow, but don't know how realistic that is. I'm sure there will be some roster shake-ups coming as SVG tries to bring in more young talent and value players. We do have a good young core to build around now, so there is a lot to be optimistic about.

Between Reggie Jackson running his mouth about fining or firing refs and Johnson "getting in Lebron's head"...these two need to STFU!

I don't mind it. I'd rather they talk a bit and have some edge to them than kissing the opponent's ass, being overly friendly with the other team, or just being apathetic. It seems to really bother these guys to be beaten, and that's a good quality in my view.

The problem was he didn't do jack shit. No one was in Lebrons head and Johnson doesn't even play much defense. The only thing it did was fire them up.

It wasn't Lebron that won this series. It was their entire team shooting an ungodly percentage from three, and no one could stop Irving.

What impressed me the most about the Cavs was their ability to exploit mismatches, the Pistons always forced to switch a more weaker Reggie Jackson onto either Lebron, the forwards, Johnson, Harris, always seen on Irving as well.

Cleveland also responded well to the smallest lapse of perimeter defense. a defender coming slow off the screen allowed quick passes until a 3 point shooter was found open, it was almost always executed.

It was smart, fundamental toughness, and it should make the young Pistons group that much better next season.
