Championship game vs Purdue

I wouldn't put any stock into that. we will beat Virginia this year if we are better than they are and play well, the fact that we beat them two years in a row shouldn't play a part. our players know their players and they know us so there is no advantage there. As for extra motivation or revenge, I think our guys have all of the motivation that they need.

All true. But last year Virginia was the better team and they didn't play well and we beat them. It's difficult to beat a good team 3 times, or 3 years in a row.

And yeah I do think if we get to that point those players will have a little bit of extra motivation.

Iowa State will destroy Virginia.

I don't see ISU making the sweet 16, they're absolutely horrendous defensively and I think Purdue is going to just abuse them in the paint.

Yeah, I'm off the iowa state bandwagon. They're extremely average team that doesn't play any defense. They've only been involved in 3 Big 12 games where they didn't score in the 70s (most games were in the 80s and 90s) so they haven't seen much defense either - and they were 10-8 so it's not like they were winning all those shootouts. They have 1 close win against a good team, at home against OU in mid January - might as well be 2 years ago. Niang can play but he's not a winner and he's prone to getting into foul trouble. If they get lucky enough to make it to UVA, I think they trail the whole game and lose by at least 7.

I had Iowa State in the final four last year...they were put out in the first round. I just think that sooner or later a team with that much offensive power will make a run.

So did I, I think I had them losing in the finals - and that performance and this year is a big part of why I think think their days are behind them. They don't have any more offense than a lot of other teams out there. They should have made the final four in 2012 when they got robbed by a bull shit charging call when Aaron Craft stepped under a shooter already in the air. It's been downhill since then for them.
