Damn why do they have to play MTSU first? I was hoping to root for my alma mater for at least one round.

Get StartedI'd rather have this draw than if we would have gotten the 1 out west.
I disagree. Kansas and Oregon got really easy draws.
North Carolina got absolutely screwed. That whole bracket is loaded.
I like the draw and where we play, I don't like the disrespect with the 2 seed. Funny that UVA didn't win their conference and didn't win the conference tourney, you rarely if ever see a 1 seed that didn't do either.

not to mention beaten by us back to back. weaksauce
Us not getting a 1 aside, this is easily the worst job I've ever seen done by the committee. Agree Virginia getting a 1 without a regular or tournament championship is bad. They did some good work OOC but it wasn't that murderous of a schedule. All the love given the Pac 12 when best I can tell all they did was beat other. Oregon's best OOC win was Baylor. Oregon State's resume was that of a bubble team and they're a 7. South Carolina played a crap schedule but if you're 11-7 in the SEC and 24-8 overall you need to be in. Monmouth with the best non-conference resume of a mid-major that I can remember can't get in, and Tulsa does nothing and finishes 5th in the American and does? Texas A&M a 3 ahead of Kentucky who tied them in the SEC, beat them in the tournament and who also had wins vs Louisville and Duke.
Just a really bad job and inconsistencies everywhere.
How about St. Boniventure? 29 RPI, 3-1 against top25 teams and they get left out. Tulsa was a bubble team before getting blown out by 20 in the first round of the tourney. UM got paired with them because the committee wants to see UM-ND. Texas and Texas A&M are paired to play in round 2. Kentucky and IU are set to play in round 2.
The Big Ten got screwed on almost every seed. The PAC 12 is overrated.
Outside of MSU, the Big Ten was really bad this year. It wouldn't surprise me if MSU is the only team in the Big 10 that makes it past the first weekend.
I wouldn't guarantee anyone. I have Purdue losing to ISU but against my better judgement I have Iowa making the sweet 16. I think they can gather themselves and beat Villanova.
I agree that things point to another MSU-Virginia matchup. I think we are better than Virginia, but to knock them out a third year in a row is going to be tough.
