All Pittsburgh needed was either team to win.

I rewatched it to see and I don?t know that it changed anything.

It?s not like Oakland wasn?t trying to get a first down. They just weren?t passing the ball.

It only makes sense at the time it was called to be sure the defense was set to stop Oakland from rushing for a first down and getting into field goal position.

Turns out Oakland was able to do that anyway.

We don?t know that Oakland wouldn?t have rushed for the first down and gotten into field goal position, time out or not.
