China introduces ?AI prosecutor? that can automatically charge citizens of a crime
Dystopian

While in the West mostly speech and movement of people are policed through automated ?AI? censorship and surveillance systems, in China, work appears to be well under way to create a machine that would act as an AI-powered prosecutor.

The product, which has already been tested by the busy Shanghai Pudong prosecutor?s office, is able to achieve 97 percent accuracy in charging people suspected of eight criminal acts, researchers developing it have alleged.

I think the state of Michigan had AI looking for home loan fraud or something like that a while back. Years ago now I think.

edit: it was unemployment. created terrible situations for people

An algorithm-based administration and fraud collection system implemented by the state of Michigan, it ran without human intervention for nearly two years between 2013 and 2015. During that time, it accused about 50,000 Michiganders of unemployment fraud. A 2017 review by the state found that more than 90 percent of those accusations were false.

Typical pushed rollout of an IT system before it was ready. Likely green lighted with the idea that "we will just make corrections after implementation" mindset that leads to horrible systems.

AI should have been self-learning and correcting mistakes. Kikely the feedback and correction piece was poorly designed.

Amazon has updated its Alexa voice assistant after it "challenged" a 10-year-old girl to touch a coin to the prongs of a half-inserted plug.

The suggestion came after the girl asked Alexa for a "challenge to do".

"Plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs," the smart speaker said.

I wonder if Alexa knows this girl will grow up to lead the resistance against the machines.

not the first awful thing Alexa has done. it's fucked up that a shitty product could have easily caused a little girl to electrocute herself and die, and I think if you polled most Americans whether it should be immediately recalled until Amazon could guarantee this would not happen again, they'd say "WHOA let's not overreact here."

I mean, what's that as a percentage?

liberals: "Ah fuck, so one girl died. Alexa makes it 0.0001% easier to play music or check the weather, and only at the cost of having a device silently record all my family's conversations and send them to a huge corporation seeking to monopolize every aspect of our lives, so, DO NOT think I will give it up without a lot of complaining."

Conservatives: *after checking to make sure the girl who died was not their own daughter or grand daughter* "Dumb kid should have known better. Hell, she deserved it."

The thing is, if the device is going to use just regular Internet searches to respond to instructions, I don?t know how such a guarantee could be made.

I guess Amazon could ban shit that it knows could be dangerous.

You do know the girl didn?t die, right? She didn?t do what the device prompted her to do. As her mother said, she knew better.

yes, I know that. it's only a matter of time before it kills some poor kid though, right?

(assuming it hasn't already happened, and either no one figured it out, or amazon successfully buried the story after settling)

The link reports that the Amazon device picked up the challenge from the website TickTock. Apparently, some assholes post dangerous challenges as some kind of a joke. If you do a web search for ?tick tick challenge,? you will see that some younger kids have died from doing the challenges. They seem all to be about 10 years old.

company makes product, creates algorithms it uses to pull content from web, and sells product for a profit, and nearly kills a kid...

Americans, such as Tinsel: "It's definitely not the company's fault. probably some other kid on tik tok"

Chicom's doing what Chicoms' do.

Footage out of South China?s Jingxi city shows law enforcement parading four alleged lockdown violaters through the town in a public shaming.

Many people gathered to watch the suspects get escorted down the street on Tuesday as police forced them to wear full hazmat suits and to carry signs showing their faces and names.

Housing prices in China are in free fall as the China Evergrande Group defaults and its shares drop by 90%. Evergrande is embedded across China?s financial system. As Bloomberg Intelligence reported ?State-owned developers may be forced to take over some Evergrande projects next year to ensure homes are delivered to their buyers??

If the 21st Century belongs to the Chinese as the Rockefeller foundation and a slew of anti American think tanks intended.. It will be one of economic global collapse.

In the words of Jimmy Chang, chief investment officer at Rockefeller Global Family Office. ? has $300 billion in outstanding debt. There is a contagion issue if China Evergrande is not resolved. I think it will end up having some deep-pocketed state-owned enterprises to take over."

China?s economy, once The globalist golden child has recently been described by the World Bank as high growth based on resource-intensive manufacturing, exports, and low-paid labor that has largely reached its limits and has led to economic, social, and environmental imbalances.? A low paid labor class that includes modern day slavery. Relying on slavery that inevitably leads to Civil and/or World War.
