Chris Houston out?

yeah at this point there is NOTHING that would surprise me with the Lions...from once again going 0-16 to going 19-0, no surprise either way because they will have talent that is capable of winning, but not sure if they will play as a team and coaches will not screw things up. they are literally the only team i can say i will not be surprised with whatever their record is next year.

So you are using the Lions history, as a barometer for future success. The Lions. The Detroit Lions. History. Success..

Recent trends of only one very bad half season. 2010 was 4-4, 2011 6-2 then 4-4, 2012 4-4 start then 0-8.

One of these things didn't belong. Lions have work to do but they have a good amount of talent and can right the ship.

2011 and first half of 2012 is what the Lions are. The last half of 2012 is what the Lions look like with a bunch of injuries and close losses to playoff teams.

All teams have injuries late in the season so I'm tired of that excuse.

Injuries vary based on teams and year and opponents injuries and quality of opponent faced when dealing with injuries. It's not the same for everyone.

Falcons missing Brent Grimes (Asante Samuel), William Moore(Chris Hope) and Lofa Tatupu (Akeem Dent)

Lions missing Burleson(Durham) Broyles(Mike Thomas), Titus Young(Robiskie), Jahvid Best(LeShoure/Bell), Pettigrew(Scheffler), Corey Williams(SLH), Nick Fairley(Fluellen), Bill Bentley(Jonte Green), Jacob Lacey(Drayton Florence) and Amari Spievey(Safety Don Carey).

Not exactly even and no advantage gained for the Falcons missing Grimes and Moore with all the Lions weapons out other than Calvin.

Week 17

http://www.nfl.com/liveupdate/gamecenter/55747/DET_Gamebook.pdf

Bears missing Urlacher(Roach), Louis(James Brown), Conte/Hardin(Walters) and Michael Bush(still have Forte)

Lions missing Burleson(Durham) Broyles(Mike Thomas), Titus Young(Robiskie), Jahvid Best(LeShoure/Bell), Pettigrew(Scheffler), Corey Williams(Saddle McQueen), SLH(Ugobogu), Nick Fairley(Fluellen), Bill Bentley(Jonte Green), Jacob Lacey(Drayton Florence) and Amari Spievey(Safety Don Carey).

Give the Lions only 3 injuries to starters and they don't finish 0-8

coming from the guy that never posts anything about any topic....just that the other person is wrong and then calls them a name. Everything I post I can prove.....the lions suck, the dline blows, our runs game sucks, mayhew cant draft worth a shit, mayhew doesn't fill any holes on defense, mayhew keeps drafting high round skill position players that don't produce. You can call it crying all you want....I call it factual evidence. Watch!:

the lions suck:

4-12. FACT!

dline blows:

avril and kvb were on it...therefor they blow. FACT!

run game sucks:
we cant run block worth a shit and our starting 2nd rd rb ran for 3.6 ypc, has a career long of 16 yards, and was outplayed by an undrafted player that was cut. FACT!

mayhew doesn't fill any holes on defense:

we started the likes of wendling, levy, kvb, Florence, Bentley, lacey, silva, coleman etc etc etc on defense this year. FACT!

mayhew keeps drafting skill position that don't produce:

leshoure 0 yards his first year. leshoure sucked his entire 2nd year. titus sucks and might not even be on the team anymore. Broyles...played a couple games and now he has no knees. FACT!

...

almost forgot.....ur a fag.

AWWWWWWWWW.....did I get someone's panties in a bunch? LMAO!!!

What a fuckin joke!!

They might not be all equal on paper. But to other teams who had injuries, they meant a lot. And guys like Lacey and Spievey etc don't make us not lose games. Their replacements might stink but come on, Lacey and Spievey?

this is a perfect example of what ive been saying for over 2 years. Mayhew has traded away WAY too much mid-late round picks that are typically guys you coach up and can step in when theres injuries. ATL has guys that can step in and be productive....we have garbage that steps in and doesnt produce. Quality depth is a major problem on this team. Its almost as big of a problem as having a lack of quality starters lol.

True on both accounts. We need some big time starters and our depth stinks.

Atlanta was much healthier and got to play a battered Detroit WR and TE core. I would hope Chris Hope would do well. Stafford did have 400 yards though I believe with only Calvin having a huge day.

And it wasn't Moore, Grimes and Samuel out like Detroit was with Bentley, Lacey and Spievey or Bentley, Spievey and Delmas many times. Detroit got no advantage in that game to Atlanta's little injuries they did have. They play that game again when Detroit has Broyles, Burleson and Pettigrew, they beat Atlanta missing Grimes and Moore.

Detroit almost never has the injury advantage and it's pissing me off. Sometimes it's even, sometimes Detroit has some injuries and can stick to .500 like in end 2010, end 2011 and start 2012. Detroit operating on all high draft pick cylinders they were 6-2 in 2011. That's the real Detroit, that's the talent Mayhew got. But we may never see that Detroit again unless they find another speed RB and draft a safety just in case with Delmas. Plus the 2011 defensive playmakers of Avril and Tulloch decided to not be playmakers in 2012.

And Mayhew didn't trade away the picks. Ok Lacey was hurt, but so was Bentley. Ok where's that mid round pick we need, Greenwood, ok he's hurt, who's playing another mid round pick in Jonte Green. Green played and did average most of the year, it's just it's Julio Jones and Roddy White.

And the Falcons guys they used weren't mid round picks like you are clamoring for. They had a vet free agent in Chris Hope(just like we did with Erik Coleman and Don Carey(who played solid) and they trade away those precious mid round pick 6th and 7th for Asante Samuel. Something Mayhew did try to do in 2011. Samuel eats up alot more cap than Green or Florence ever did, something the Lions couldn't handle thanks to the old CBA.

i wasnt talking about last draft....eventhough he did trade away a pick in last years draft (whitehead). He also traded one away for thomas. Heres all the trades just thru 2010! LMAO....were the frikken anti patriots....and our record just goes to prove it....whatever hes trying to accomplish with all this movement....its not working. Youll reply back that alot of this was to get a bunch of veterans who we now overpay or are looking to cut. Then ill reply back "yippee...we got a bunch of veterans that are now overpayed and we dont even want on our team" and were left with a bunch of scraps playing special teams. Then youll tell me how special teams got better. Eventhough just because you dont give up touchdowns anymore doesnt make the unit better. We still have douchbags kneeling down kickoffs at the 5, not getting any quality field position....ever....and giving up tons of field position in the process.

We did not just give up picks in all those cases. For instance the 2 and 4 to Minnesota. We didn't give up the picks, we turned our 2nd into a 1st and swapped 4ths. So the Lions didn't lose any picks. Others on there were for good players like Houston, Corey Williams and Sims and Shaun Hill and Lawernce Jackson. Trading for starters is better than using those picks on special teams guys.

That choice to KC is for tampering is a swap for tampering not losing a pick.

You make it seem like we gave up all these picks just to move up. We didn't.

Same with the first one, 4th to SF. We traded down back in the 4th 117 to 125 and picked up an additional 6th round pick from San Fran. Oakland trade we did move up in the 5th but just swapped 5th and gave up a 7th. No big deal. Happens all the time.

Even the LeShoure trade, they gave up one additional pick. A 4th and swapped 5ths with Seattle. Their 3rd round became a 2nd. It's a loss of only pick not 3 like you make it seem with this list.

That 3rd to the Jets was a trade back. We picked up the Jets 3rd later in the draft(Levy, Jets were moving up for Shonne Green), and we got the Jets 4th and a 7th. You made it seem like we gave up a 3rd round pick but we really gained 2 picks.

That 4th to Dallas. That was traded in the 2008 draft by Millen to move up to select Cliff Avril.

The 5th to Baltimore was for Julian Peterson. We gave up Redding and a 5th for Peterson.

The 6th was to Denver in 2009 Detroit traded for a future 6th.

The 7th to Atl thru Dallas was from the Roy Williams trade. Detroit got 1st,3rd and 6th but gave up that 7th. Great trade by Mayhew. Added 2 picks and made a 7th a 6th.

Mayhew accumulates picks or trades them for starters. Check your facts next time Hughes. We are better than the Patriots. Mayhew is a genius in turning late rounders into starters and getting extra late round picks.

you LOSE VALUE in the 4th and we got garbage in return

moved all around.....got nothing but garbage in return that we would should try to move away from this offseason and you want to replace with tahir frikken whitehead or lewis.

LMFAO. You tried to make Mayhew look bad by saying we lost all those picks and I proved you wrong. Or you were just clueless what the Lions were actually doing with those trade. Probably a little of both. Now all those picks were garbage? The extra 4th from the Jets we got Sammie Lee Hill and Levy(a starter). And remember because of Millen we didn't have a 4th to start.

The trade down with San Fran got us Jonte Green who did a solid job. We gained a pick. Ronnel Lewis we'll see what he can do.

The Best trade was a great move, we got an extra 1st rounder and only had to swap 4ths. That's a great job in the draft. 4th round is 4th round, all the same type of players.

LeShoure trade, he had a solid first season. When he gets some run blocking you will be happy we have LeShoure.

What did we get for that future 6th. Lawrence Jackson, solid play in 2010 and 2011.

5th for Corey Williams. Great move. 5th for Rob Sims great move. 7th for Shaun Hill. Great move. 6th and future 7th for Chris Houston. Great move.

Tampering was Gunther's fault for running his mouth about getting former Chief players. If you knew anything about the Lions you would know that.

Dumping Redding for Peterson was a good move. The contract Millen gave to him was ridiculous.

Roy Williams trade. Great trade.

Mayhew is great in the late rounds and good in the 1st round. If his 2nd and 3rd round picks could stay healthy(not Mayhews fault), he'd be GM of the year. Fixed

BAM!!!

DOWN GOES GLASS JOE!!!

Don't worry about Hughes.....dude just doesn't get it. He thinks every pick should produce at a HOF level and if they don't, it was a wasted pick. Get a #1 corner for a 6th and a 7th....show me another instance anywhere in the league where that has happened??

Mayhew has made some solid moves, as you pointed out. Time will tell on the likes of Reiff, Fairley (who looks to be legit) Leshoure, Titus and Broyles.

That being said, it would be nice if our first two picks this year produced right away. I'm all for BPA to a point, but if Schwartz and Mayhew want to keep their jobs in Detroit, this better be a win NOW draft.

oh i get it....it should be a WIN NOW draft every year. Weve taken 20 years to rebuild and in most everyones opinion except yours, LKPs and Tonys....were nowhere close. Theres a bottom line to all of this that you guys fail to see. Were 4-12. We need to resign, sign or draft approximately 12 new starters lol. The only people on this team worth a shit are staff, cj, suh, fairley, reiff and Houston. All of them were 1st round locks except Houston who ive always given mayhew credit for getting.....however, now hes a free agent and might not even be back with the team lol. You can post all the woulda shoulda coulda crap you want to....it doesnt change anything i just wrote.

edit....ill throw tulloch in there. missed him. gratz MM....you have 7 decent players on this team.
