Chris Rainey

all i'm saying is he seemed to not produce as well this year and therefore he seems to be declining in talent, BUT i did say that could be due to the DC having his head up his ass and not doing anything other than vanilla scheme so the O always knew where to go and block him. still, he seemed to have lost a (half)step this year to my eye.

yeah, my bad...tully is the bomb. in fact he is so good the reason they didn't put him on this list:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/35956/power-rankings-top-10-nfl-linebackers

is because they didn't want to show up the rest of the league.

Tulloch is not a outside rushing linebacker like at least 4 of the guys on this list. So get off his case. He's a good player who does good things off and on the field. Like Cheeno said, we need more of these kind of guys.

behind that DL i expect more, but apparently you guys are ok with his play. sorry that i have higher expectations. maybe he was playing hurt, maybe it is the DC...all i am saying is he was not as productive this year in my eyes. guess i have higher expectations for the play of the MLB - whomever is playing the position - behind this DL.

never knocked him for any off-field elements, so bringing that up and trying to throw it in my face in some way makes no sense. are you attempting to deflect, pull focus, or some other fashion of pulling wool over my eyes by using his off-field positives to mask what i see as a decline in production on-field? those two are not equitable. yes the lions need more guys like that, but it isn't as though top 10 MLBs are all jerks off-field and don't do any positive work in their communities. tully does more than most and gets recognized for that effort, but that does not exclude him from criticism.

in reality i bet if you were to ask him personally he would say his play was not as good in 2012 as 2011, but everyone who played both seasons other than CJ should say the same.

hes probably our best tackling LB...but thats not saying much considering we have levy and durant next to him. Hes not good in coverage. Hes probably should be a 2 down lb vs most passing teams but he stays on the field cause no one on our team can cover anyways lol.

Tulloch did have a down year but he doesn't get help at all from his DEs, Suh rarely despite the doubles or Levy IMO in run defense. Tulloch's covereage was solid though. Durant is the liability in coverage and Levy was a liability after his hamstring injury. Stafford, Tulloch and Pettigrew are 3 key players that can easily improve and make this team closer to 2011. Plus having a healthy Delmas especially if playing alongside another stud safety. More speed at RB would help too. Those 3 have proven they can do it already, it's up to them.

Dude Tulloch is solid in coverage. One bad game all year, against Green Bay when he let Finley loose for the first TD.

you said he doesn't make tackles in the hole....I produced a stat that he had more stuffs then everyones god at MLB Willis 6 - 5 in Tullys favor....he had more stuffs then the guy PFF put at MLB on the All North team ( Brad Jones from the Pack )

28 years old 8 years of experience in the NFL and a master of Schwartz scheme and like cheeno stated locked up at a team friendly price.

sorry but don't see what you're bitching about.

Tulloch is a top flight mlb. Made a bunch of plays but when there are huge holes because the dline fires past the damn play the lbs were on an island all year. Levy was ok but probably can be let go and Durant has game changing ability and made some very good plays reading and getting through the line. He was our best player in some of those games.
