I just don't see TA getting a HC gig this go around. There are too many OC/DC/HCs out there with a longer/more proven track record of success.

He has done a great job, but I think he was handed a pretty stellar foundation of players and needs to prove he can be successful for at least a couple of years.

The real answer is he's a shit d-coordinator, and he knows it. He knows he overachieved this season and looked like a damned genius, but he's not.

And he knows he can't replicate that in Dallas next year. So get out now, and take over a sub-par defense, and look like you want the challenge of re-building it.

When both defenses tank next season, neither is your fault. Job security.

Or that's my theory anyway.
