Commissioner Dave Dombrowski??

Only if DD as Commish can rule retroactively upon Galarraga's '10 season 28 up, 28 down perfecto.

:)

I hope not... would like to see DD here for a long time.

We would likely get Al Avila as GM if it happened, can't really complain about that.

Get it done. Selig is horrid and it wouldn't hurt to get some Tiger connections at the top. Besides, I've got plenty of confidence in Daddy Al as his successor. I think it would be fantastic.

If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with GM. Commishioner job seems boring.

Boring?

Look how much Selig changed the game of baseball since he was commissioner.

Creating 3 divisions, moving his team (Brewers) into the N.L., adding wildcard playoffs, all-star game HFA.

The new commissioner will decide the future of the game also, with several re-alignment theories creeping up, and even talk of contraction of a couple teams.

I would think it would be anything but boring, but it's a thankless job....kinda like being President of the United States, you have to be willing to have at least 50% of the people hate you just because.

I'd like to keep Dave, but some of the other options terrify me, Joe Torre? Yikes!

Did I say what he did? I just said it sounds boring. I'd rather try and build a winning team than worry about the good of the game.

Plus, the commission gets way more than a GM.

Good thing because Dave's on his last food stamps.
I think I read he's the highest paid GM by a large margin. I think he's getting somewhere around $5mil/yr from what I recall hearing.

So, what you're saying is you would rather sit on the phone all day with other GM's and or agents trying to work out deals, than be involved in the evolution, marketing, and history of the game of baseball.

Gotcha.

So the Commish doesn't get on a phone, he's "out there"? Lol. Being a GM, its like playing fantasy baseball full time and getting paid for it. And much less travel. We all have different opinions.

Yeah, he's well paid, but he'd be earning 3X as much if he were the commish.

Wow! You aren't very ambitious are you.

Has nothing to do about ambitious. I just think being GM would be more fun. What's wrong with that?

I guess nothing. However, given the chance I would rather have the power to fix baseball....and as the commisioner you would have an opportunity to do that.
