Confusing Things That Leyland Does

That's happening today.

Avilla is going to have a ton of protection with Raburn and Inge hitting behind him.

Question? Men on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs, Tigers down by 2, Avilla up, do you intentionally walk him to load them?

Absolutely.

Sometimes I wish small sample size where an actual heavy and painful artifact that I could physically beat people with until they understood it.

I'd just take it out of your hands and throw it in the trash.

Inge and Raburn are fn garbage, buddy and i'm not just basing this off their pathetic BA's this year. Get a clue, bro....

It is not just Leyland but DD and management to. This team needs some speed and youth and has to stop using clowns like Inge and Raburn...

How is that confusing? He is a reliever and he needed someone to pitch 2 more innings.

Because Balester also pitched, so when he used Below, he used both long relievers in the same game.

If Porcello goes to shit today, Below will be limited in the amount of pitches he can throw now.

Villarreal has been a starter most of his career and is averaging 2ip a game so far this season.

...unfortunately he threw 26 pitches last night, giving up a home run and two walks in 2/3 of an inning.

Yes, but when the post about it was made last night, BV had not been called up.

What should he have done in the blow out?

I don't get the complaints. Those are Below's innings for sure.

I get that Below should probably start in Fister's spot until he's back, but he's still occupying that spot in the pen.

You would be exactly the kind of person to take some knowledge and understanding and throw it right in the trash without a second thought. I have a clue, you could use one.

Even if you are just using your eye you still would say that Raburn at least is having good at bats. He's not striking out, he's taking pitches and he's making solid contact, balls are just not falling in play. So clearly you have not even been watching his at bats or at least you might have been, but don't have a clue what to watch for. No, you are like so many other people, you see outs being made and attribute that to bad at bats. Stupid.

To be fair, I don't see where anybody mentioned Inge's 2012 batting average, so the small sample size comment really doesn't make sense...ESPECIALLY, when you could take the last calendar year as your sample and he'd be well below .200.

Why not let the rookie who was in keep going? Or get an inning out of Dotel and Coke, that way nobody is wasted for the next day.

That's an option, to keep with Balester. He was at 27 pitches.

But it still seems like a coin flip scenario, use Below or keep Balester in.

Don't agree with using Coke or Dotel here, as they may not be burned for the next day, but would be burned for the day after if they pitched in back to back games. Not worth chancing it, in my opinion.

I meant the other rookie, the one who had his cup of coffee last night before getting shipped out.

In the end it didn't matter, but I don't like using both long men in a game the night before a guy who lasted less than 3 innings his last start goes.

I was talking about Raburn not Inge. Inge's at bats have looked as horrible as his results.

Ahhhhh, i see now. Raburn is having "good AB's". Fucking sweet. What was i thinking? He's been pretty much garbage his whole fn career though. He's horrendous in the field and we usually have to wait until the second half for his bat to somewhat come alive. Give me a break, dude.

I will tell you this though. I haven't watched every Tiger game this year but i do try and catch as many games as possible when i'm not working or not hanging with the fam. But i will give you a rundown of that pathetic baseball player named Raburn next time i can, ok?

As for your boy Inge. He's history, buddy. Raburn is next....oops.
