Coronainsanity

exactly. what is so hard to understand about this? the same medical advice might be wrong in one situation and right in another.

So masks that do not protect the user protect others about the user. Masks that ?should never be used for protection against infectious aerosolized particles? are effective in protecting others from being infected by a mask wearer, and that protection is augmented if the other person is wearing a surgical mask that the CDC considers ineffective in filtering out aerosolized particles.

Do surgical masks provide protection against SARS? CDC: (2003)

?Most surgical masks do not effectively filter small particles from air and do not prevent leakage around the edge of the mask when the user inhales.?

Which, conversely means that small particles escape from the mask when the user exhales.

Somewhere in here might be the answer if a masked person can transmit the amount of virons required to infect someone else.

I?ll just keep my distance and avoid areas where masks are required.

I tested negative for Covid twice, and I?m vacced since April.

So who is my wearing a mask protecting, from what?

other people from you (sort of) because of antibody mediated viral enhancement - when a vaccine doesn't kill the virus (like these vaccines, which are more like a treatment than a prevention), the vaccinated can be carriers/spreaders of the virus. I say sort of because we all know masks don't work for that so in truth, I don't know who your mask is protecting or from what - unless you just ate a big gyro platter with extra onions and tzatziki.

If we made it mandatory that everyone get vaccinated, you wouldn't have to wear a mask.

Yet vaccinated people are being re-infected with COVID. They have to wear masks in some states still. They got the vaccine to protect themselves and others from infection, which is what a vaccine is supposed to do, expect this one isn?t universally doing that. Which is why I don?t consider them as vaccines.

But, well, we are in an age of tremendous flux, where definitions of terms and institutions are being changed at ?warp speed?, which is incredibly convenient for the Powers Who Are.

the masks & the 6' social distancing are things that they implement to try to curb the spread of the virus. The mask helps keep any potential "droplets" from spreading too far from the nose and mouth.

Anyone with the slightest bit of common sense should see that a mask will help in this manner.

you are correct...it really isn't a vaccine and the term is used incorrectly. People that get the "vaccine" can get infected. But it has been proven that it has assisted in curbing the spread and is protecting the huge majority of the people that have taken it.

If someone doesn't want to take it...they are free to make that choice. I don't criticize them. Do I think it's a good idea for most people to do it...yes, I do.

My sense of common sense recognizes that there is no way that masks can prevent the transmission of an aerosolized infective virus, droplets or no.

who said prevent? It's a way to curb the transmission.

If you knew someone had COVID, would you rather stand 3' away and have a 10 minute conversation or would you rather they wear a mask and stand 6' away from you during that conversation?

has it? data from countries that still report the vax status of infected and hospitalized people indicates the majority of people hospitalized are fully vaccinated. Some of these countries have higher vax rates than we do, but they're also experiencing outbreaks with big spikes in cases and hospitalizations.

how is this moron a doctor? I guess Opthamology school is a joke.

Maybe his neighbor will get out of prison soon and kick his ass again.

I take his opinion any day all day 7 days a week twice on Sunday's over anything that comes out of Fraudchi's mouth.

man, how did our country EVER win a war? jfc, we can't go two steps now, without disingenuous, bad faith, argumentative crap halting any sort of coordinated response or action.

We'll all come back together just before the completion of agenda 2030 when ww with China wipes most of the globe out.

If I knew someone had COVID, or the flu, or any other contagious virus, I?d not engage them in any way until they were healthy again. So it?s a moot point.

right. but we can't know someone has COVID because we don't test everyone, a large percentage of Americans are selfish pieces of SHIT who wouldn't tell you if they were positive and sick because they can't countenance being inconvenience for a second/or are batshit insane and deny the existence of the threat, AND we decided we weren't going to completely lock down public places/businesses for two weeks-month because we have to feed the beast of commerce, even if it costs lives (and it did and continues to)... so we decided masks were better than nothing.

This is a rant that exceeds the pale of reason. I'm interested in discussing the matter, but this gives me little to work with.

It's not a moot point. Many people that are contagious don't even know that they are...so you certainly wouldn't.
