I wouldn?t have gotten the vacc that age.

As far as the situation where people are dependent on boosters from the vacc and are more vulnerable than they would have been?I?ve heard people talk about that but I forget what it?s called. My understanding is that it?s projected to be pretty rare if it happens at all.

But who knows?

The vaccines definitely are experimental and we?re learning how they function as we go.

From that data it seems they?ve prevented some deaths from Covid to this point.

I guess we?ll learn as we go.

It's literally a minimum cost, easy way to slow the spread, and these assholes are playing games with kids' and their families' health, all so they can be the Biggest Loudmouth for the GOP nomination in 2022.

I've been following alternative / non-corporate media aggregators and various doctors and public health officials out there since this hit the radar in Jan. 2020, and the right course of action - caution - has been available all along, and a cautious approach would dictate we vaccinate AND continue to mask up and otherwise refrain from events and activities that involve large indoor crowds. Has public figure consistently made the cautious & correct approach publicly? Maybe Jay Inslee in WA?

We do those things and we can manage this... I don't know why it's so difficult for us to manage it. The political system of this country cannot put any actual leaders in place. We get complete morons & corrupt freaks on both sides, beholden only to business interests, not the public interest. From the Federal response and the CDC on down to state governors.

That's what I don't get either. It's a minor inconvenience at worst, and a positive a health benefit - against all airborne pathogens, not just COVID - at best.

I am really responding to #158 but that?s a whole lot of text.

I haven?t seen any data suggesting that masks other than the N 95 mask are effective. All the data I?ve seen shows that they?re not.

That said? I could see an argument that the governor prohibiting more local, duly elected government authority from making decisions for their own constituents is counterintuitive to the federalist philosophy, and I could see the argument that that itself is in fact authoritarian.

We?ll see how it plays out.

My guess? As opposed to what? There are a few nations with different narratives than the rest. South Korea did well by ramping up testing early beyond what other nations could do. Sweden didn't do lockdowns initially. New Zeeland shut down borders and locked down early, but then was able to lift lockdowns last summer. I think they've only had a few dozen covid deaths and there was probably another lockdown or two between the first one and this one, but they've had it much better than we have.
