TSCO beats sales and earnings estimates and raises dividend and increases dividend by 77%. Must be all those dumb rednecks taking veterinary medicine...

I bet they'll be able to repurchase lots of stock with all that money.

they increased the dividend so I'm not sure they'll be buying back shares as well. I prefer buybacks because they're a more tax efficient way of distributing earnings to shareholders.

Another day.... another pandemic expert saying exactly the opposite of spartan and mud.

Zeynep Tufekci, a sociologist and pandemic expert, told the New York Times it is ?purely luck? if a virus becomes weaker as it evolves, and that viruses ?don?t care if you eventually die as long as they transmit through you.?

Van Kerkhove appears to side with Tufekci?s view. The WHO official warned Tuesday that there is ?no guarantee? the COVID virus will get weaker as it evolves and that although the world might hope that?s the case, ?we can?t bank on it.?

Crazy Marketing concept.... foot traffic = sales. Only took a global pandemic for them to figure it out.

Instead of growing the company, hiring people, or paying their workers better, they hand out windfalls to large investors who may or may not have done anything except click "buy" on a computer and grab a bunch of shares on the secondary market.

There?s no guarantee we all won?t get hit by a bus. We can?t bank on it.

All kinds of ?experts? have differing opinions, especially Faucci, who, when questioned about his flip flop on various positions, his best answer is the most honest one - ?before - I was lying.?

Zeynep Tufekci is wrong, it's not luck, it's the norm with outlier exceptions all throughout human history. WTF is a sociologist? And of course there is no guarantee Van Kerkhove, nobody is saying there is!. pull jer head out jer butt hughes

There certainly are ways you can guarantee you dont get hit by a bus. 1) dont go near a bus or 2) get rid of all busses.

funny you hear him say "i was lying" i heard him say he was telling the truth. People were being told you dont have to wear masks cause they saw in the data that the vaccines were working to protect as intended with preious strains and that there was a shortage of PPE.

All that has now changed ofcourse....and i think the first minute of the interview explains why it should be important to continue to wear them. ALot of asymptomatic or "mild" symptom case out there right now. Id rather those cases sneeze and cough into a mask instead of on me.

Dude you?re really not worth talking to. He said that he was saying you don?t need the masks because they wanted to save them for medical professionals. Fine, but that?s not he was saying at the time. So he was lying about the reason that he said you don?t have to wear the masks.

All this was going on months before the vaccines were available or even developed.

We are not going to be able to get rid of all buses, just like we?re not able to get rid of all guns and all drugs. Also you never know when a bus is going to fall on top of you from out of the sky, no matter how hard you try to stay away from them.

whats the data on busses dropping out of the sky? Nevermind ill do my own research.

I came up with Omicron is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% to more likely to kill you then a bus falling out of the sky. Finally...something we can label mild.

so you shouldn't get the dividends or any return on your investment if you bought in the secondary market? Are IPO and follow on offering participants supposed to hold their shares forever? Perhaps the government should collect 100% of the dividends of shareholders who weren't fortunate enough to get an allocation in the IPO or a follow-on offering - because those people are taking no risk when all they did was "click a button" - is that right?

And what do you know about growth at TSCO? It's been one of the fastest growing brick and mortar retailers for a while now - it's like Home Depot for farmers but in an earlier stage of development. They'll continue to grow but probably at a less rapid pace as the company matures - much like Home Depot continues to grow. They've grown revenues from $8B in '18 to $12.3B TTM as of November of '21. EPS has gown from $4.31 to $6.38. Yeah, these guys should be paying a dividend - money that retirees count on for income even if you don't think they're taking any risk.

The level of stupidity you spue with each post just continues to astound me.

yeah, sociology isn't a real science and she's neither a doctor nor an epidemiologist. She does have a Masters in Art from the Radio-Television-Film department at the University of Texas at Austin and apparently a PhD probably in sociology (which again, isn't a science degree) from that same school.

Also, what are you claiming I said because what your film school graduate expert is saying isn't close to exactly the opposite of anything I've ever said.

That post was sarcasm. TSCO isn't actually making windfall profits off of idiots buying horse medicine. They've been growing consistently since well before the pandemic. In fact, like with a lot of retailers foot traffic probably declined a bit in a lot markets due to shut downs.

we should get rid of all viruses before we even think about getting rid of buses - even if one could veer off the road and kill you while you sit in a recliner watching TV in your living room. Viruses are so much worse.

Barbara Ferrer has a Ph.D in sociology and has the authority to make up/change science in LA County on a daily basis.

dude, have you seen what happens to people when a bus gets dropped on them? No one would call those symptoms mild.

She probably also has a film degree then. I mean, she must if LA County regards her as an expert.

Edit: I didn't even think about the fact Hollywood is in LA County when I wrote that - sometimes you just get lucky.
