Cutler Benched!

Drew Stanton torched us on his first 2 drives. That was beyond pathetic

Short Passing game seems to really mess up our defense a bit. It loosens up the defense and allows for the longer passes to be available.

Wouldn't pressing the WRs help with the short passes? Idk. Just a thought

I think everyone has Matt Flynn burned into their brains still. That D was a joke and no way this D gets touched by Clausen.

It's funny that people remember the first Matt Flynn game but not the 2nd game where an aborted fetus could have played better.

Cutler is starting again because Ansah gave Clausen (Cheddar Bob) a concussion.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will start Chicago's season finale against the Vikings after Jimmy Clausen experienced delayed symptoms of a concussion Sunday evening and will not play this weekend, the team announced on Monday.

"Jay gives us the best chance to win," coach Marc Trestman said. "Jay is our best option."

Clausen was ruled out after an examination on Monday morning.

"Jay gives us the best chance this week. So that's why he'll be out there," Trestman said. "Jay said 'I'll be ready to go.' He empathizes with what Jimmy had gone through last night. He's ready to go. He'll be in this afternoon to get started."

Rookie David Fales will serve as the No. 2 quarterback in Week 17.

According to the Bears, Clausen suffered the concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Detroit Lions after being illegally struck in the head by Detroit defensive end Ezekiel Ansah.

Ansah received a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness, but Clausen remained in the game after he displayed no concussion-related symptoms immediately following the play or during the final four plays of the drive, according to the official statement released by the team.

The Bears say Clausen was further checked on the sideline at the conclusion of the drive but that he again exhibited no signs or symptoms. Clausen was also checked after the game.

Clausen later called the Bears and told them he was experiencing delayed concussion symptoms.

See, that needs to be a story in itself. From my seat on the couch I watched the shots of him with his helmet off. He did not look right. He looked very blank and slow to respond to the other coaches' questions. When I'm catching that through a TV screen, something got missed in person.

I like how he says "Jay gives us the best chance to win.." Not because the other guy is concussed..or "with Clausen out we have to resort to Jay."

Any word on a fine for Ansah?

I don't think it was his intent to hit the head, but he was leading with his helmet. I was expecting to hear about some sort of fine.

I'm confused was Cheddar Bob the title of the news article?
