Dan Dickerson + Mario Impemba to trade broadcasting roles at times during 2016 season

I haven't listened to a Tigers radio broadcast in many years but this year I decided to go that route, tired of paying for a sports package. Granted it won't be like Ernie but how is the radio broadcast these days? Always more funny listening to a game outside.. And since night games start at 4pm my time I'm looking forward to listening rather than watching.

I like listening to Dan and Jim on XM. Some Tigers fans don't like Price.
They Do tell it like it is alot more than Mario and Rod for sure.
Very Little sugarcoating.

Thanks. A side question if you know, what are the ways you can listen to XM outside the car? And is it expensive? I was thinking either XM or the much cheaper MLB Gameday Audio. Thanks.

I like Dan and jim. They have so much more latitude in Thier criticism I think then the tv guys. Some Jim price terms you will hear alot.

The art of pitching
Th ol buggy whip.
Yellow hammer.
racky tack

I am Sure i am missing some.

Mitch XM has some sort of a radio you can have in your house. A guy I worked with at the PO had one and used to listen to Howard Stern every morning! http://www.siriusxm.com/

Okay thanks. That will be so much better and then I can listen outside on the back patio and some sun. Better then trying to listen on my phone or tablet.

Rule that out. Radio cost a bunch, activation fee of $25 and some royalty fee of over $2 a month added to the $19.99 per month fee.

The cell phone it is.. But the free version of Tunein has the station for the Tigers games. So I'm happy about that.

Nice area.
Playing Thiiiirrrrrddddd.
Golden Arm.
Tools of Intelligence.
You youngsters out there...

He's cliche at times, but overall I like Price. Not sure how I feel about him and Mario as a team though, I'm not really a fan of Monotone Mario and his deadpan play by play.

Which station?? Last season I downloaded many apps and could not find one that had the tigers broadcasts. I will def be downloading this!

Gibby and Jack were a bit slow and boring at times, but I like the variety of voices and different viewpoints we're getting now. Dan and Mario are both great, so I'm looking forward to hearing them cross over.

I have an internet radio and 97.1/1270 does not broadcast the games across the internet. You have to have an MLB package or XM radio or get an over-the-air single.

There may very well be an app or some bootleg stream you can get, but I am not aware.

Price is meh, beyond repetitive but more insightful that Rod, I find him funny because I follow Fake Jim Price on Twitter who always posts his sayings and I found a drinking game online once. Other ones include:

"Keyhole"
"Arsenal"
"Late movement"
"Faygo the party pop for over 100 years"
"Wow"
And he butchers players last names constantly

Is that even if someone is out of market? Or will those two stations just not broadcast games unless it's the radio or the ones you mentioned?

At worse I could get MLB audio, $19.99 is reasonable.

The app Tunein I'm hoping works is a radio station app and has many Tigers affiliate radio stations.

Yes. I live in New York. But it doesn't matter, no MLB games can be broadcast on the internet unless it is through MLB. XM radio has a separate agreement with MLB to broadcast the game.

I subscribe to MLB TV, which also includes the radio broadcasts. I can watch the Fox Detroit TV feed, but listen to the radio audio simultaneously. Or I will just have the radio when I am driving or out fishing.

I've had the MLB.tv before and heard they have single plans this year, under $90, just for the Tigers for example. That's an option but I think I might just go audio this season.

If you already are paying the $19.95 per month or whatever it is, you should be able to listen to Sirius/XM on your computer.

Just call them and have them tell you how to set it up.

Mario Impemba used to do radio for the California Angels.

Don't forget:

the great Al Kaline
Mr. Ilitch
he once pronounced photographers as two words: photo graphers

Then again, Rod Allen uses convinced and convicted interchangeably, as in Miggy was convicted he was going to get a fastball on that last pitch.

I'm not. I was thinking about it but the only thing I'd want XM for would be for the Tigers. Why I'm going the cheap route, 19.99 for the season, MLB audio..
