Dantonio retires!

That?s how contracts work, you commit to something then you honor it. Maybe if you went to law school, you?d know something about that.

HAHAH, insulting me doesn't change the fact that your crappy school's crappy AD doesn't know how to negotiate.

Weird timing isn?t it ? Why February 4th and not right after getting the bonus a few weeks back ?

Fickell has done fine at Cincinnati, but kinda had a "deer in the headlights" look about him during his interim year at OSU. I wonder if he's up to the challenge? It's often a lot easier to succeed when there are lower standards & expectations.

also, unlike the Ohio sports media, which are more like Ohio Cheerleaders, the media in Michigan actually does their job and are more critical of dumb football coaches. He better get prepped for that.

Yeah I'm not sold on Fickell. I mean hes the only OSU head coach to lose to Michigan in the last 16 years.

I’m pretty damn shocked. I want to be pleased since I wanted him gone but the fact that it’s 2/4 and this is happening puts us way behind the 8 ball for hiring and doesn’t help us at all. I too wonder if the Blackwell additional allegations today influenced this but from what I’ve read the ncaa violation allegations seem so minor/made up that its hard for me to think that would have been the final straw for Dantonio. I’m interested in hearing more from the presser coming up.

I think Msu is going to hold a presser at the basketball game tonight, and Mark is going to speak at halftime. I think that is what I heard.

Sounds like he still loves the game, just doesn't want to recruit anymore. It showed the last 2 years that his heart wasnt into recruiting

I?ve only read summaries but it sounds like the violations are thing like taking Blackwell into a recruits house with him. Why is that even a violation? I wonder how many NCAA coaches read that and thought ?that?s against the rules??

LOL you are passing judgement on a school?s ability to negotiate? How much has Harbaugh bilked the dumbasses at uofm out of? And what have they gotten for it? Do you ever think before you post?

I think things like this are pretty standard in coaches contracts. I?m not endorsing it or not the amount anyway, I think all these coaches and ADs are overpaid, but I think he deserves some kind of send-off bonus after what he?s accomplished at MSU.

Jim Comparoni, who broke the Dantonio retirement story, saying Luke Fickell offered 5 years at $24 Million. Could happen quickly.
