Darius Slay named to 3rd-straight Pro Bowl with Golladay + Stafford Now Slay traded

If it's a sign then trade then he should have 1st rd value. You probably only get 2nd or 3rd rd value with a 1 year rental.

At this point trading him is probably the smart move. I like Slay as a player but given the way the Lions play defense I don't see any reason to pay him any more than he's already making, move on and get something in return.

Quinn could play hardball with him and expect Slay to play out his deal but that could cause even more problems when it comes to signing FA players in the future.

The time to deal with Slay was last offseason not this offseason.

Detroit Lions admit they?re exploring all options?including trades?with Darius Slay.

If Detroit throws money at him he'll sign but I don't see him wanting to be here. Slay is solid, but there are still too many big plays he gives up.

Lions are signing former #Falcons CB Desmond Trufant to a 2-year, $21M deal with $14M guaranteed.
This puts Darius Slay’s future in Detroit in question. The #Lions have discussed trading him.

CB Desmond Trufant was the No. 3 available FA CB by @PFF. Trufant has earned a 70.0+ OVR grade in 6 of his 7 years in the NFL (2018, 69.5)
His 89.9 COV grade since 2013 ranks T-14th among CBs and has 71 forced incomp. (12th), 12 were dropped INTs.

Desmond Trufant is a FULL QIB qualifier.

Looks like he's going to Philly and getting a new 3 year extension. Not sure what we'd get back.

They better not take Okudah at 3. Trade back to 5 and take him then.

As far as Slay to the Eagles. I don't think they could get #53 unless they swapped 3rds or something. They better get nothing worse than the Eagles 3rd round pick, #85. I guess #103 & one of the 4th round compensatory picks would work too.

Lions could really do a lot in this draft if they play their cards right.

Get #5 & #39 for #3
Slay trade

picks in the first 3 rounds
5
35
39
67
85
