apparently, in response to her persistent anti-semitism (more persistent than even michchump's), Duke has not only defended her but called her the most important member of Congress. Oddly she hasn't been asked to denounce white supremacists 30 tomes in the last 24 hours - as far as i can tell she hasn't been asked to do it even once. so very strange - the media probably hasnt heard about it yet. they probably read about it this weekend and start hounding her on Monday...

What did she say that was actually anti-semitic?

go ahead, post her actual quotes.

Who gives a fuck what David Duke thinks about anything..?! Fucking KKK, Nazi, political loser ...faggot-ass botox treatment-having, wannabe televangelist, pencil-pecker, limp-dick wannabe straight up cracka, muthafucka..?!?!?!?

is this a real question? you do and so does every other lefty moron - when he's saying favorable things about Trump or a conservative

David Duke takes it in the pooper from repressed rednecks

It’s HILARIOUS that you are sharing the opinion of a KKK grand wizard, Nazi and racist inbred ...you stick with that to make your “points” pal. Of course he came out of the wood work in Charlottesville you twat — Trump’s a fucking racist like Duke is. It’s not a surprise David Duke was masturbating on national TV about Trump because he and Trump think racist, intolerant and violent whites are ‘very fine people.’

Mack likes David Duke and feels his opinions help prove a point that absolutely nobody gives a fuck about. What is Duke’s favorite ice cream, Mack??

Let me guess —

go ahead, post her actual quotes.

The three quotes are contained in this Article from the New York Times op Ed, in the fourth paragraph beginning with “Israel has hypnotized the world. May Allah awaken the people and let them see the evil doings of Israel.” The other two tweets quoted Follow shortly afterword, including her comment that support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins” And one with more text longer than I want to transcribe here but it follows immediately afterward.

Are they anti-Semitic? I guess it’s a matter of opinion.

Some of you may not have noticed this, but I love Humor that pushes the edges-racial, religious, ethnic, sexual orientation-I love humor that is about shit that makes people uncomfortable.

That said, I don’t think Omar is being humorous. This seems to be in the context of her serious opinions, rather than her being an Internet humorist living out her (his) Hollywood comedy writing fantasies on the Detroit sports forum.

Anyway, it is my opinion in the context that Omar’s statements are made that yes-These comments are anti-Semitic.

Most of you probably are aware that I’m not Jewish or even particularly religious, But my wife is Jewish-although she doesn’t really work very hard at it. Most of her family and longtime friends are the same, so for that reason I am possibly a little sensitive to anti-Semitism-although I must confess,That doesn’t stop me from making as many Jewish, racial, religious, ethnic, sexual orientation, political jokes at home as she allows me to get away with.

Hope this sheds a little light on the situation for everyone.

EDIT: Maybe it’s the fifth paragraph down.

whats hilarious is how dumb you are. i dont like Duke nor am I "sticking with his opinion" or relying on it in any way w/ regard to Omar or Trump. that's painfully obvious to anyone who is not as dumb as you. duke endorsed Trump and the media and idiots like you took that as proof that Trump is racist. Trump was asked repeatedly for over a week if he renounced Duke and white supremacy which he did repeatedly. Now duke endorses Omar (calls her the most imprtant person in congress because he agrees with her anti-semitism) and not one person has asked Omar if she denounces Duke.

are you starting to understand, moron?

and in Charlottesville they chanted, "The Jews will not replace us!" as part of this global conspiracy saying the Jews "control the banks and the economy" and are intending to displace rednecks/blue collar jobs with ...dark people/Latinos/"Them"

no wonder David Duke would agree with what might be taken as anti-Semitic, right? because he's never said anything anti-Semitic.

I didn’t mention David Duke. I answered the question that was asked about exactly what Omar said.

Duke comes in pretty handy when partisans get an opportunity to use him to bash the other side, except for that he’s pretty unimportant.

Congresswoman Omar matters though obviously, and I posted an article about her and Tlaib In the “sweet pants Nancy Pelosi thread.

My take is that she was pretty clearly criticising the government of Israel, not Jewish people, and the influence of the AIPAC on our own government.

Not Anti-semitic.

And like you, I am not Jewish. I am not married to someone of Jewish descent. (What does Mrs. Tinsel think, BTW?)

HOWEVER, I was named for a pretty famous biblical Jew by my Catholic parents, and you were not, so I feel like I have just as much cred on the topic as you.

ALso, FWIW, quite a few prominent American Jews have defended Omar and her comments.

Well, as you quoted me, I view it as a matter of opinion.

A number of her fellow Democrats have condemned her comments.

She did apologize for them, or at least some of them.

Anyway, I provided the answers to the questions that you asked, at least bringing this discussion around to what is at its roots and making it apples to apples.

EDIT: Oh I didn’t answer your question-yes my wife considered those comments to be anti-Semitic.

Let me first say I think she's an idiot for choosing this hill to die on. You'll never convince me that the people of Minnesota elected her for her strong opinions on Israel. Bigger fish to fry.

Having said that, how does one criticize the country of Israel or the United States support of Israel without coming off as anti semetic? If she'd have said 'Jews' instead of Israel I would get it. But it seemed she was referring to the country itself? Help me out. Most of you seem to be in the 'she's a jew hater' crowd.

Ironically and unfortunately, Alex Trebek was just within the last few days diagnosed with stage four cancer.

That said, this post sets up like something out of Jeopardy:

Alex: “ For four hundred: ‘Various statements critical of Israel caused most people to be put ‘Ilhan Omar is a ‘Jew hater’ by those in the “Ilhan Omar is a Jew hater crowd’ for this reason...”

Contestant (buzzes first): “What is ‘How does one criticize the country of Israel or the United States support for Israel without coming off as anti-Semitic?”

Alex: “That is absolutely correct for four hundred bringing your total to 1600 and it’s your pick next.”

Contestant: “Alex, I will stick with ‘completely worthless bullshit partisan politics for 500.’”

Alex: “And it’s the audio daily double… “
