David Duke loves Ilhan Omar

South Africa probably didn't allow anti-apartheid people to visit either back in the 80's.

But Israel has been doing this for a long time to anyone that criticises their government, even people of Jewish descent (Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky).

Israel is not an apartheid state. It's the only democracy in the region where Jews and Arabs are free to vote, practice their religion, not practice their religion, or any religion for that matter, be openly gay, draw or say something bad about the prophet or the Quran, etc without being hanged, stoned, thrown off a building or suffer some other barbaric murder. Honor killings and throwing acid in your daughter or sisters face for refusing an arranged marriage also doesn't happen in Israel. Basically, it's the only country in the region where you can be free.

Israel does NOT occupy Gaza, the left a decade ago and they built a wall because walls work and they needed to stop all the terrorist murders with suicide vests from coming over and blowing up innocent people. And now Hamas indiscriminately hurls rockets from Gaza into Israel on a daily basis. Israeli defense forces do not murder innocent arabs, just like cops in the US aren't racist murderers of black people.

You have to be monumentally stupid to be on the other in this conflict - like Omar, Tlaib, AOC, mc, etc.

Netanyahu made the wrong call it only bolsters their misguided anti Israel/US argument.

I was Israel for the 1990-1 Model UN debate season (though let’s be serious, Model UN was a joke vs Debate) in MICHIGAN. It was awesome!! I had to defend Israel vs Mock court cases brought by Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

When asked how to define “terrorism” in response to a situation where the Israeli AF took out some single house associated with Hezbollah I said “any time an Israeli citizen is harmed or killed.” When the ‘colleague’ from Saudi Arabia said “scum sucking Israelis” (he himself from Iraq) I said in rebuttal, “I won’t lower myself to tell you what Saudis suck on, but ....” and the judge from B’Ham Seaholm burst out laughing.

I walked over to the ‘Saudi Arabian’ whose name is Mobeen and told him I meant no personal offense and was just “playing Israel” and he was unequivocally genuinely glad I said that because he was .... pissed!

We both wound up at UM in fall 91 and saw each other here and there over the years.

Trumps a fucking twat.

I think they made the right call. BDS is backed by the Palestinian Authority which is the political arm of Hamas, a terrorist organization whose stated purpose is the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of Jewish people throghout the world. Omar and Tlaib both refuse to denounce Hamas and both vehemently support BDS. Neither one even recognizes Israel, they both call it Palestine.

And its not the case that the poor Palestinians are caught in the web and are held captive by Hamas. They voted overwhelmingly for Hamas candidates in elections in Gaza. They clearly support the policies that would lead to the destruction of Israel.

Theyre not seeking a peaceful resolution, theyre coming to show solidarity with the evil cause of Hamas, legitimize and validate it and ultimately shift US policy in the region to support for anti semitic (and anti Christian, Budhist, Hindu, aetheist, LGBTQ, etc) terrorists. Allowing them entry only legitimizes their position.

Hey, if they capitalize the word “movement” in the acronym for “Boycott, Divestment and Sanction movement,” it would be BDSM.

hahaha, damned if she does, damned if she doesn't

Providing an explanation for why Isreal refused her initial visit is not the same as endorsing it. Now that she has the opportunity to make a visit to see her Grandmother, she's refusing to take advantage of the offer. Clearly humility is not her long suit.

If you read the links and see my post above, you?ll see that she initially accepted and then succumbed to pressure from the BDSM crowd.

So the (paraphrasing) "won't visit under these oppressive conditions" explanation is a fabrication? But she was going to visit there initially?

That?s what one of the articles said she was initially willing to agree to, yes.

Then the Twitter assault from the BDSM fans caused her to have a change of heart.

So in writing she agrees to terms, gets flak from BDM supports on Twitter and then recants her decision, citing Israel's "oppressive and racist policies" and "it will kill a part of me" if she visited.

Whatever.

The movement is BDS, for ?Boycott, Divestment and Sanction.?

I have chosen to add ?M? for ?movement? for reasons that should be pretty obvious.

I've heard about that, but I seriously do not know what it stands for specifically, and don't want to.

Well it stands for a movement to weaken Israel economically Set upon by anti-Semitic Muslims, of course.

What did you think I meant it stood for?
