Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia already in danger of losing his players?

I agree totally with you. Team was 9-7 under a crappy coach so Patrica really has zero excuses for his team being unprepared to play. It was a embarrassment. Listening to 97.1 our of Detroit there is some really big concerns in how Patrica is acting on the sidelines. I am really worried that the Lions really are not playing for this guy. Right now. Man it is so frustrating.

Mornhinweg and Smith were the most indifferent HCs that the Lions have ever had, IMO. Dishonorable mention goes to Fontes successor Ross, who was the only HC ever to quit on his team ~midseason. Patricia, of course, has not had enough time in to make any determination as yet.

My brother went to the game and said Patricia stood away from everybody and only would talk to the defensive coordinator. Thought that was kind of weird for a head coach.

We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors so who really knows. Maybe it’s just a week to forget, at the end of the day it was only one game. Lots to be concerned about but let’s see how they come out next week. I’m normally not this optimistic, I just want to give it a few games.

Guys on 97.1 fm out of Detroit said the same thing and they thought his body language was really odd.

While I agree but the problem with that is we saw this all preseason.

We would probably be better off if he lost the players and found new ones.

I remember saying to some of my co-workers back when JAX and CAR became the newest expansion franchises in the NFL, that both would play in a SB before DET, and sure enough, the Panthers made it in less than a decade, and the Jaguars have a pretty good shot at the playoffs, AFCC, and SB after this regular season ends. Even the most recent expansion club in the Texans have won more playoff games than the Lions.

ESPN dropped the Lions 7 spots to #27 this week in their latest power rankings, as a result of being thoroughly dominated in all aspects of the game by the Jets, but only moved the Jets up 4 spots from #30 to #26, just above the Lions.
