Detroit Lions FA Thread

I see your link, and raise you a link:

Now, do you think we have a shot at drafting Clowney?

Teams look at any player they can before the draft. Posting a link saying Dennard worked out for the Lions as proof they may still draft a CB is like me posting a photo of the Pope to prove there is a god.

It's retarded corollary evidence at best, and ridiculous logic at worst.

a good show of maturity there man. really classy

u must be drunk or high. or both, u are forgiven for showing no class. im done indulging ur immaturity

I don't drink and I don't do drugs. Also,I just don't like you. Never have.

so the lions have resigned Mathis and brought in the CB from Indy. What happens next? Slay is still here and Houston. If they still draft Gilbert/Denarrd, what could this do for the CB Corps' improvement

i think the Grandy mentioned that Houston's cap hit is too high to cut him. can they trade him? or do they Lions not go CB and hit OLB with Barr?

1) Houston hit FA twice and no one wanted him...why the hell would they trade for him?

2) Barr would be a DE for us

why couldn't barr be a OLB? i think some of the ppl here have mentioned that possible

they said its possible he plays a 3-4 olb hybrid type ....but that's assuming Austin has a 3-4 type of package installed ofr our defense. Everything thusfar has stated that we will be playing a 4-3. Barr is not a 4-3 OLB. and if mayhew selects him to play out of position in a 4-3 as a olb and puts him in coverage....then mayhew is the biggest fucking retard waste of a GM in the NFL.

dude no offense but Mayhew could pick the guy you wanted, that guy flames out and you'd still call mayhew that

While it might be a bit hypocritical, in the end Mayhew is the GM and we're fans. If he fucks up, whether we supported the decision or not, he's still subject to scrutiny.

I didn't hate the Charles Rogers pick but you can bet I'll still make fun of it forever.

Maybe the Lions are planning on changing over to a 3-4 starting in 2015. If that is the case it would make Suh expendable which is the reason they didn't extend him.

could be a possibility. Which would make Barr and Nix options. a 3-4 defense is worthless without a good nose tackle. That shoots all the way up to top priority for our defense if theyre planning a switch in scheme by next year. That being said....id want a suh trade if they are moving to a 3-4. Sure he could do fine there....but to pay him like one of the best DEs in the league just so he can eat blocks in a 3-4 would be a waste.

Reports are they are in negotiations on an extension. Sounds like the talks have been productive and professional.

If so, it's likely Suh will extend, and be here beyond this year, which also means he either converts to a DE in a 3-4, or we stay 4-3.

It was just a guess on my part. I do like a 3-4 defense better than a 4-3. I really think Suh could be a great DE in a 3-4. Kind of like Justin Smith.

I've always liked a 3-4. But besides the NT we don't have the LB's. I guess we'll find out soon enough if they run a hybrid this season..
