Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 261 ? Consensus NFL Mock Draft Crossover. 2 hours 37 minutes.

In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Case are joined by Jeff Risdon, Scott Bischoff, and Erik Schlitt to come to a consensus on the first 35 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. Do the Lions trade down? Is it Chase Young, Jeffrey Okudah, Isaiah Simmons, or some other surprise?

Detroit Lions Podcast Brings The 2020 Draft Alive.
We?ve put together the best and brightest minds in the Detroit Lions space to come together on a consensus 2020 NFL mock draft. We work through each pick and force each host to justify their selection and argue for their pick until the group comes to an agreement. In this exercise, a majority must approve trades, and they must be realistic. Chris plays the role of moderator and holds the deciding vote in case of a tie.

We break down every trade, it?s ins and outs, and justify them with realistic values. There is no better way to dive into the 2020 NFL Draft. We?ll break down the thinking behind each pick as well as why certain choices do or don?t make sense.

Jeff, Scott, Eric, and Case bring their ?A? game and don?t cut corners on this effort. There are big discussions all the way through pick #35 (the Lions second round pick). If you want to learn, this podcast will fill you with tons of information. If you are super into draft research, this will help you think through your positions and present a number of counter arguments. An opportunity to validate or re-evaluate your thinking is a golden one.

Pride Of Detroit Lions Podcast: Dueling Detroit Lions 7-round mock drafts: To trade down or to stay put. 73 minutes.
We break down 2 scenarios in which the Lions stand put or move down to 6.
POD

The Detroit Lions could face a very difficult decision on draft day this year. Holding the third overall pick means holding a lot of value. It also means holding a lot of potential value depending on the teams around them.

Detroit could simply stay put and take either the first or second-best defensive player in the entire NFL Draft. No one would fault them for making a move like that after such an unsuccessful season on defense last year.

But general manager Bob Quinn has to know that there?s a chance he can have his cake and eat it, too. There?s a very real chance that a player they could have at three?like Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah?would be available at five or six. It?s Quinn?s job to get the absolute most out of this third overall pick, and adding a couple of high draft picks to go along with one of the top players on their board would be an absolute score. However, trading down and missing out on a top-tier player is a considerable risk and could backfire spectacularly.

So this week on First Byte, myself, Ryan Mathews and John Whiticar go through both scenarios, using The Draft Network?s Mock Draft machine. First, we stay put and try to draft the best players with Detroit?s current picks. Then we get risky and trade down with the Los Angeles Chargers to see what could happen.

Afterwards, we discuss the risk/reward of each scenario and what we?d like the Lions to do in the upcoming draft.

Pride Of Detroit Lions Ask POD: The NFL Draft stops for no one.
No one is stopping the NFL Draft, so we ain?t stoppin? either.

As we trudge ahead in the NFL offseason, we?re getting shockingly close to the NFL Draft. It may not seem like it, because we aren?t being bombarded with the typical Pro Day news, rehashing all of the same athletic profile news that we consumed a month ago at the NFL Combine.

Jeez, the Combine was just a month ago? Feels like at least a half a year.

Anyways, as we get closer and closer to the NFL Draft, the PODcast must get more and more focused on the huge event. For the Detroit Lions, this will be the biggest stretch of three days this offseason has to offer. And while it may seem like we?ve already beaten things to death, there is always more discussion to be had. NFL Draft fans are insatiable in their hunger, and we are not below indulging them.

But we can only indulge for so long. We want you to drive some of the discussion of the next PODcast?Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on our Twitch channel. So in the comment section below or via Twitter using the hashtag #AskPOD, send us any and all of your questions.
