Andrew Luck said a lacerated kidney "does not feel good" and that healing is slow but he's cleared now for a while.

Andrew Luck said Jim Caldwell is "very highly respected" in the city of Indianapolis. Caldwell was fired in Indy a few months before the Colts drafted Luck.

Matthew Stafford said it is different in Week 1 because you don't always have opponents on tape playing for them.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford said there is added responsibility on him with Calvin Johnson being retired. But he's excited about it.

Lions HC Jim Caldwell believes he has the personnel on offense and defense to win different ways this season. He knows teams will "challenge you in every area."

Lions HC Jim Caldwell said he doesn't envision Ameer Abdullah getting 30 carries a game but he knows he has to get him the ball in a number of different ways.

Lions HC Jim Caldwell said he feels he got a fair shake in Indianapolis. He was there for three years before he was fired after the 2011 season.
