Detroit Lions - Team Notes

On ESPN NFL Insiders, Adam Schefter said the Lions "think" Ameer Abdullah (injured reserve) is done for the year with a torn ligament in his foot.
This directly conflicts with a Sunday morning report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who said Abdullah was expected back "shortly after" the team's Week 10 bye.
It is possible the Lions do not know either way at this point. Theo Riddick and Dwayne Washington will handle the bulk of the backfield work for the foreseeable future.

Marvin Jones caught 6-of-8 targets for 205 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions' Week 3 loss to the Packers.
Jones easily found space down the right sideline all game. He got open against tough coverage for a 38-yard gain in the second quarter, found the soft spot in the Packers? zone coverage for several chunk gains, stiff-armed a stumbling corner to the ground for a 73-yard touchdown late in the first half, and got the Lions within one score late in the fourth with a 35-yard touchdown.
The Lions could not complete the comeback, but it was not for lack of effort from Jones. He blew past his previous career-high in yardage, and an even bigger day bounced off his hands on a diving attempt in the end zone. Jones has proven himself to be the clear No. 1 in Detroit. He will be a borderline WR1 next week against the Bears.

Eric Ebron caught 5-of-8 targets for 69 yards Week 3 against the Packers.
Shockingly, the five catches matched Ebron's career-high, and he likely would have had more if not hobbled by an apparent ankle injury in the second half. Ebron played through the injury, but he had to come off the field after a catch in the third quarter and did not appear to be 100 percent.
Ebron looked great before the issue, but his biggest play of the game was one he would like to forget. With the Lions driving, Ebron had the ball ripped out of his hands on what should have been a catch. Despite that mistake, Ebron will be a must-play option if healthy next week against the Bears.
