Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Jim Caldwell said "we'll see" whether Ameer Abdullah can come back this year. Abdullah is back in town and around the building.

Matthew Stafford, Glover Quin and Don Muhlbach are Lions captains.

No DeAndre Levy, Ezekiel Ansah, Eric Ebron and Dwayne Washington all miss open part of practice for the Lions.
Briefly saw Washington walking pretty well as he headed toward the weight room.

WHO WILL WIN: EAGLES OR LIONS?
Carson Wentz will try to stay undefeated as the Eagles visit Detroit in what could a post-bye week trap game. The beat-up Lions offense could struggle to score against an Eagles' defense that hasn't allowed a passing TD this season.

The Lions are officially down three starters for Sunday against the Eagles: DeAndre Levy, Ezekiel Ansah and Eric Ebron.
A fourth key player, Dwayne Washington, is doubtful. With Washington doubtful, don't be surprised if Zach Zenner receives a bunch more work.

Detroit Lions Week Five Preview vs. Philadelphia Eagles.

Huge ShitHead ref Pete Morelli of 2014 Wild Card game fame will be officiating Sunday?s game. With the Lions ending up on the wrong end of several close and sometimes incorrect calls in recent seasons?especially the pass interference call in that 2014 Wild Card game?Morelli?s presence at Ford Field is sure to draw some ire from fans.

Lions DC Teryl Austin said he expects to build on safety Miles' Killebrew's role moving forward.

If the Lions wanted to bring back linebacker Josh Bynes, they could do so much sooner than originally believed.
Tracked down an injury settlement number for Josh Bynes. Looks like the Lions could re-sign the LB after Week 6, if there's interest.

Marvin Jones (foot) is questionable for Week 5 against the Eagles.
He returned to a full practice on Friday after being a limited participant on Thursday. Currently sitting second in the league in receiving yards, Jones should continue his breakout season Sunday against the Eagles. Consider him a borderline WR1 in that matchup.

Eric Ebron (ankle, knee) is out for Week 5 against the Eagles.
He didn't practice this week and was never expected to play. The Lions will use some combination of Cole Wick and Khari Lee at tight end in his absence. Consider Ebron week to week.

Dwayne Washington (foot, ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 5.
He should be considered "week to week" with foot and ankle sprains. The Lions' next man up is Zach Zenner, but Zenner played only five snaps in last week's loss to the Bears. Theo Riddick should be a near-every down back against Philly.
