Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Lions GM Bob Quinn said he felt they had a productive first year and nine wins is a good season but not good enough for what they want to do. "Our goals are higher," Quinn said.

Bob Quinn said he made the decision to keep Jim Caldwell before the postseason started.

Bob Quinn said he probably shouldn't have been as black-and-white on zero tolerance policy on gun issues.
Said he should take case by case and did it a lot of research on Andrew Quarless and Orson Charles situations last season.

Bob Quinn: Every indication is DeAndre Levy wants to play football. Quinn said he still believes he can play at a high level like he did a few years ago.

Bob Quinn said decisions on Riley Reiff and Larry Warford are "in the months and weeks to come." Nothing has been decided yet.
That's the right side of Detroit's offensive line.

Detroit Lions GM Bob Quinn was good, now has to be even better.

One thing that has gone unnoticed about Quinn is how many moves he made in his first season.

Since Quinn took over, the Lions have made 261 roster transactions.

Every day, it seemed, I received an e-mail from the Lions announcing they had signed a new player, especially during the season. From the final cut-down day until Thursday, the Lions made 105 roster moves, churning through players, moving them on and off the bottom of the roster. By comparison, during a similar time frame one year earlier, former GM Martin Mayhew made 58 roster moves.

And maybe, that?s the best sign that we have seen from Quinn.

That he is never satisfied and seems relentless in improving this roster. But messing with the bottom of the roster is one thing.
Now, he has to be right about the top half of the roster.
