Jim Caldwell declines to say if he's been told if he'll return in 2018 or if he plans on coaching in 2018. Said he's only focused on Sunday's game and isn't worried about the future.

Jim Caldwell said Travis Swanson never really cleared concussion symptoms, which is why he was placed on injured reserve. Said it's not his place to discuss Swanson's future with him from a medical perspective, that is up to doctors.

Jim Caldwell, when asked what he tells his family about all the questions about his future, said they just go on business as usual and they've been through this before. Caldwell has been in the coaching business a long time.

Jim Caldwell, when asked if he deserves to coach the Lions in 2018, said "That's not for me to judge." Said he believes he's been asked that question the past three seasons. Caldwell has been on the hot seat at the end of the year in 2015, 2016 and this year. In 2014, Caldwell's first year with the Lions, he had Detroit in its best position in a long time.

Nevin Lawson only player not spotted at open part of Lions practice.

Lions RG T.J. Lang said the foot has been his biggest issue this year but that it won't require surgery, just a few weeks of rest after the season. Said he was struggling to walk around the facility last week. This week he's planning on playing, though. He practiced Friday.

Nevin Lawson OUT for Sunday; Anthony Zettel (groin) questionable.

With Nevin Lawson out against Green Bay, his season is over. He's a free agent come March and played 2,003 snaps over 48 games in Detroit, making 141 tackles with one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown and 16 pass breakups. He did not record an interception in his four years with the Lions. It'll be interesting to see what the Lions do with Lawson in the offseason. He's shown he can be a starting corner in the league but the Lions took Teez Tabor in the second round last year and Tabor has gotten more work over the past few weeks.
