What’s the point of this move? Diggs is under contract through 2021 and his cap hits aren’t that bad. Probably going to waste that pick on some bum who will barely see the field. I just don’t see the benefits of this move, even if they believe the season is truly over.

Fucking stupid move. Unless they’re opening up “space” for someone else this makes no sense.

A 5th?? Fuck off, Quinn!

Just when i thought i couldn't hate this organization any more than i do , they go and do something like this ....and totally confirm my beliefs . There better me more to this , i'm more pissed about this than losing Kerryon

This move makes no sense, unless there's something coming that makes it make sense.

I'm shocked over it.

Season over before November. Why get rid of one of your best young defenders for a 2021 5th round pick? I hope this is Bob Quinn's last year.

Quinn is a dope. There better be something to this decision.

Diggs either had to have a fairly serious fight with a coach or this move is to clear space for another as of yet unannounced move.

Otherwise, I need a DAMN good explanation for it. Didn?t need the cap room or the pick. Locker room leader. Still young. Nobody else on the roster significantly better.

Just makes no sense.

Hope there is more to it but I just think Quinn is incompetent.

'This some bull': Lions trade popular safety Quandre Diggs to Seahawks for draft pick.
Detnews

About a year ago, the Lions traded wide receiver Golden Tate. It doesn?t take hindsight to know that move made more sense. Tate was on an expiring contract, the return compensation, a third-round pick, was exceptional value, and despite his continued high-level of production, there was a personality conflict behind the scenes.

Diggs, on the other hand, was under contract for two years beyond this one. He was viewed as a leader by teammates and the coaching staff alike. Yet, on the other hand, his play had unquestionably slipped to start this season, particularly his tackling. He missed six this year, according to Pro Football Focus. It was an issue that repeatedly showed up on tape.

And, yeah, the Lions just signed him to an extension a year ago, a three-year deal that kicked in this year, but the team couldn?t see into the future. They didn?t realize how much their situation would change at the safety position. They didn?t know Tracy Walker would develop far faster, and better, than imagined. They didn?t know they?d be taking another safety, Will Harris, in the third round this offseason, and that Harris would also develop at a quicker-than-expected rate.

Diggs was due a pay bump next season, from $2.7 million to $5 million in base salary. The team will save around $3.5 million in cap space in 2020 with the move.
The Lions have drafted safeties in the third round in each of the last two seasons, and second-year man Tracy Walker and rookie Will Harris have played big roles this season for head coach Matt Patricia?s defense.

They must like what theyve seen from the rookie, idk. Yep, hate this move

They're about to lose the locker room. Players aren't happy about this. And how can you justify a 5th round draft pick for Diggs right now? Like the rest of you, I can't figure out this move at all. There better be a story coming out about he murdered a baby or something.

I agree they basically just gave him away for nothing it’s absolutely stunning I’ll bet that chip on his shoulder returns now and he balls out for Seattle
