Detroit Tigers Minor League Notes

Tigers have released Franklin Perez, Chavez Fernander and Johan Camargo?

Perez was the jewel in the Verlander trade and now all we have left from avila's brain fart deals is a part time catcher Jake Rogers.

Max Clark with a leadoff double for the FCL Tigers today. He now has an extra-base hit in each of his first 3 pro games.

The Tigers have announced the following roster moves:

*Claimed INF Isan D?az off waivers from San Francisco and optioned him to Triple A Toledo
*To make room for D?az on the 40-man roster, designated LHP Zach Logue for assignment

DEEPER DISCUSSIONS.
Totally Tigers

In just a few weeks, the Detroit Tigers will be calling up some highly-anticipated prospects. Currently, they are editing their rosters, DFA?ing players and creating openings that may change the players on the 40-man roster.

It is expected that Parker Meadows will see Detroit in just a couple weeks. And a number of analysts are also predicting that Justyn-Henry Malloy will be added to the 40-man roster and also come up for an audition.

Both men play the outfield which is getting increasingly crowded.

Next year, it is expected that the outfield will have Riley Greene and Matt Vierling holding down slots. Akil Baddoo may also be part of that equation. So will Kerry Carpenter who is not expected to become solely the DH (teams no longer have 1 person who fills that role these days) and is also much too young to fill that slot more than 1-2 times/week.

The Tigers will have a minimum of 3 full-time outfielders in 2023. Another is expected to be part-time. And sadly, we cannot expect that Austin Meadows will return.

And now, 2 more may be competing for outfield jobs next year.

Which one ? P. Meadows or Malloy ? do you believe will be the best choice to earn an outfield spot?

Don?t just consider their offensive strength. Consider the ballpark, whether they hit LH or RH, their defensive range, whether they can become a plus defender and their speed.

Consider the whole package.

Today?s blog addresses this dilemma and allows readers to share their thoughts in more detail. And hopefully, to actively engage with others by responding to their posts and creating back-and-forth discussion threads. The more the merrier!

For this one blog only, you?ve got 6 sentences max to share your thoughts. Of course, you can also respond to other readers.
TT will supply the ammunition. One thought-provoking question. Several options provided. One hard choice to be selected. One vote.
