Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Tigers manager Jim Leyland says it's a possibility that Anibal Sanchez, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain, will have to make a Minor League rehab start before returning to the starting rotation.

Getting prepared for the All-Star Game, Leyland says he's contacted every American League manager that he didn't talk to earlier this year for their opinions on who should make the team. Leyland says his goal is to make sure players having good seasons don't slip through the cracks during the selection process.

June 26 in Tigers history:

1949 - Pat Mullin goes 4 for 4 and hits three home runs for the Detroit Tigers in a 12 to 4 win over New York.

1972: Detroit's Bill Slayback makes his major league debut a good one, allowing no hits for seven innings against the Yankees. Johnny Callison's single in the 8th is the first hit, but Detroit hangs on to a 4 - 3 win.

1991: Mickey Tettleton repeats his feat of four days ago by again hitting a home run out of Tiger Stadium, in an 8 - 7 win over the Brewers. The Tigers break a 7 - 7 tie with two outs in the 9th.

1992 - Star second baseman Lou Whitaker is caught trying to steal twice in one game. It’s the only time that ever happens to him.

1997 - In Detroit's 10 - 6 walloping of the Red Sox, Tiger Brian Hunter swipes four bases. Detroit also gets a home run from Shane Mack to offset two Boston homers.

DETROIT -- The key to a good game is a strong offense, pitching and defense. However, it seemed like the Tigers forgot the last part, committing six errors in a 14-8 loss to the Angels on Tuesday.
Detroit's six errors were its most since Sept. 11, 1982, against the Red Sox in a 13-3 loss, and the most in the Major Leagues since the Pirates committed seven errors against the Cubs Sept. 7, 2012.
The Tigers entered Tuesday's game against the Angels with the fourth-best fielding percentage in the Major Leagues, with 29 errors in 2,751 chances.
Detroit committed two errors in the Halos' eight-run fifth inning -- a throwing error by Torii Hunter that skipped past catcher Bryan Holaday at the plate, and an errant pickoff throw by Evan Reed that allowed a run to score.
In the sixth, Reed missed first base covering after Prince Fielder flipped the ball to him on a grounder. The next inning, Holaday made an errant throw to center field trying to toss out Erick Aybar, who was stealing second base.
Miguel Cabrera made two throwing errors on ground balls in the eighth inning to raise the total to six.

Avisail Garcia is hitting .234/.275/.359 in his last 21 games.

Among 3B, Miguel Cabrera has the worst UZR, DRS and tied for worst RZR.

Miguel Cabrera is having a ridiculous seasons right now. He currently leads the AL in runs, hits, walks, RBI, batting average, and on-base percentage. He is currently on pace to reach base 335 times, which would be the 14th-highest total ever.

And yet, Cabrera continues to battle for supremacy with Davis, who leads the league in home runs, slugging, and OPS. He is second in doubles, RBI, and average, and is third in OBP. Cabrera is on pace for 56 home runs, which would tie him for the 16th-best total ever. Add to that his 50-double pace, and he is aiming at 106 extra-base hits, which would be the fifth-best total ever.

And then there's Votto, who emerged from a slump this week. He is leading the league in walks and is five off the pace in hits. He is on pace to reach base 316 times this season, which would be the 50th-best result ever. Votto also looks like a good bet to lead the league in OBP for the fourth consecutive time, which has previously been accomplished only by Barry Bonds, Wade Boggs, Ted Williams, and Lou Gehrig.

So, out of all those numbers, we need to separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of what is truly historic. I will track the following things:

-Cabrera's Triple Crown chase (though that's becoming less likely as Davis builds on his home run lead)
-Cabrera's/Davis' sabr-triple crown stats (AVG, OBP, SLG)
-Davis' home run total
-Davis' extra-base hits total
-Cabrera's and Votto's times on base (though Votto needs to continue his increased pace)
-Votto's and Cabrera's attempts to lead the league in walks and hits
-Votto's pursuit of a fourth consecutive OBP crown
