Tigers | Rotation spot iffy for Daniel Norris
Detroit Tigers SP Daniel Norris (back) is still awaiting results of tests concerning his lower back stiffness and likely has not built up his pitch count enough to begin the season in the starting rotation. SP Shane Greene is expected to win the job as the No. 5 starter to begin the season, in the opinion of the Detroit Free Press' Anthony Fenech. SPs Buck Farmer and Matt Boyd are also still in consideration, though. Source: Detroit Free Press - Anthony Fenech

BHQ take: Norris' physical setback seems likely to provide Greene a rotation shot. Greene has been profiled as a potential source of profit if provided such an opportunity. Greene was widely promoted as a potential 2015 breakout candidate, before his disappointing injury-plagued, performance-marred 2015 which featured skills deterioration. The length of Norris' absence is as yet unknown. ?Tom Kephart

March 26 in Tigers and mlb history:

1936 - Hank Greenberg signs with the Detroit Tigers to a $20,000 contract, and Red Ruffing accepts $12,000 from the New York Yankees.

1937 - On the advice of Ty Cobb, Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio reduces the weight of his bat from 40 ounces to 36 ounces.

1951 - In an exhibition game at the University of Southern California, Mickey Mantle propels a home run estimated at 654 to 660 feet. The shot clears Bovard Field and then goes the width of a practice football field before landing. Mantle has two homers, a bases-loaded triple, and drives in seven runs as the Yankees flunk the Trojans, 15 - 1.

The 5 Best Moves Al Avila And The Tigers Made During The Offseason.
CBSDetroit

1 and 2 are the same imo. Did not like #5. And the jury is out with # 3 & 4. Sox fix AA bat would be bad news for Tigers. Zimmerman's numbers do not fit well in the AL. Time will tell for both.
Upton deal makes the Maybin a maybe deal now. Upton is better than it.
The Rodriguez deal should replace either 1 or 2.
And really the way ST going Pelfrey could be the surprise.
