One of the MLB Network guys just posited that the Tigers wouldn't have traded for Ozzie Smith, because they had Alan Trammell and not Smith, because they drafted both in '76, and signed Tram (2nd round). Did not sign Smith (7th round).
Ozzie only beat Tram in OPS only 3 times in nearly 20 years. Trammell averaged over 100 points better.

Wrote Sunday that 60% would be good sign for Jack Morris. With 66%, his situation looks much better, even with big names joining ballot.
Would love to see how many new votes for Larkin also voted for Trammell. Gotta believe it was quite a bit with that jump to 37%.
Jason Beck

Alan Trammell's support growing. He's up to 36.8% -- an increase of 12 points since last year. Four lyears eft, still faces tough odds.
Jack Morris jumps up to 66.7%. He has two more chances on the ballot to reach the needed 75%.
