Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Cameron Maybin (wrist) took batting practice on Thursday.
It's his first time doing so since he suffered a non-displaced hairline fracture in his left wrist. There's a possibility Maybin will be ready to play in a minor league game in a few days. Tigers manager Brad Ausmus expects the outfielder to need about 40 rehab at-bats before being activated from the disabled list. That suggests he could be ready by mid-April if all goes well.

April 1 in Tigers and mlb history:

1942 - Major league owners decide not to allow furloughed players in the military to play for their clubs if based near a game site.

1962 - The Detroit Tigers sign University of Detroit basketball star Dave DeBusschere. He will pitch effectively in 1962 and 1963 with the Chicago White Sox, but will gain much more notoriety as a key member of the New York Knicks' NBA championship teams of 1970 and 1973.

1985 - Today's issue of Sports Illustrated contains a fictitious article about a New York Mets pitching prospect named Sidd Finch, whose fastball has been timed at 168 miles per hour. Author George Plimpton offers bogus quotes from real-life members of the Mets, as well as several staged photos, and fools readers nationwide.

Detroit Tigers Gameday: Anibal Sanchez on mound; likely 'everyday lineup' in place.
Mlive

Friday’s lineups: Tigers vs. Rays.
Looks a lot like an Opening Day lineup, if the Tigers had a designated hitter slot for Opening Day.

TIGERS:
Ian Kinsler, 2B
Justin Upton, LF
Miguel Cabrera, 1B
Victor Martinez, DH
J.D. Martinez, RF
Nick Castellanos, 3B
