Smyly said he'll pitch on April 7 for Toledo before MLB debut on April 12 for Tigers.
 
Subnote in Tigers pitching decision: Jacob Turner will stay back in Lakeland to stretch out arm, freeing up a MudHens spot for Smyly's start.

Tigers set a new franchise record for spring training attendance with 128,887. There are 6,392 here today in Lakeland.

Leyland says there's a possibility Brandon Inge will open season on disabled list.

If Inge opens on DL, that would conclude the roster moves until Smyly is added to roster.

correct. So would Worth. Someone would have to go by April 12, though.
a position player would be cut. Likely Thomas. This outfield competition wasn't remotely close.

Good win all around for the Tigers in this game Bullpen finished with Coke and Benoit pitching shutout innings Valverde gave a run in the 9th thoe. But all in all a good win. Tigers bang out 11 hits as well. I'm ready for the real season to begin. The Tigers other split team was ahead of the Mets 9-2 so this day could end up really AOK.
