Cabrera might not be walking at a rate we?re used to, but his .325/.375/.557 is right about what you would have expected from him at the beginning of the year, with the exception of a few extra ticks on the OBP. ZiPS sees him finishing with 33 home runs and 117 RBI which is just about spot on for his career average. He?s having a terrific season, even if he might be doing it a little quietly by his standards.

3 up - 3 down: Tigers' Miguel Cabrera putting up consistent MVP numbers.
from the freep

3) The Tigers' offense struggles because they are near the bottom in the AL in walks and have helped out opposing pitchers by swinging at too many pitches out of the strike zone. The worst culprits are Brennan Boesch (eight walks in 224 at-bats) and Delmon Young (seven walks in 196).

Brennan Boesch scratched from tonights Tigers lineup with right ankle sprain.
Quintin Berry now starting in RF and batting 2nd.

Man.

Where are the calls to fire Chris Walter (Tigers strength and conditioning coach). Someone has to be accountable for nearly every single person on the team breaking down.

I thought it was Javair Gillett?
But I agree, was thinking this the past week or 10 days, guys like Dirks, Jackson, Fister all trying to return and had setbacks.
Then too, it could be from feeling pressure, management and/or players, to return before 95/100% ready.
Will post at 5PM. try to get it at the top of the hour with this once again 6/7/8 minute time stamp messed up.

Brennan Boesch was scratched from Sunday night's lineup due to a sprained right ankle.
He hurt himself when he slid home to score the winning run in Saturday's game against the Reds. Quintin Berry is starting in right field and hitting second. Consider Boesch day-to-day.
rotoworld

Leyland, when asked if Boesch is day-to-day with ankle sprain: "Everything's day-to-day with us this year."

Doug Fister will not start Wednesday.
Porcello on Wednesday, Verlander on Thursday, Crosby will spend few days in bullpen, then start Friday.

edit. Nothing alarming on Doug Fister, according to Tigers medical staff. He'll take a day or two, then throw another bullpen session.

Detroit Tigers' Jim Leyland rules out possibility that Doug Fister could start Wednesday.
from Mlive

Fister had what Tigers manager Jim Leyland called a "great" throwing session Saturday. But on Sunday, Leyland said Fister will not return Wednesday.

"He's stiff and a little sore," Leyland said. "He's definitely not going to pitch Wednesday. That's the only information I can give you on him.

geez, sounds like...see you in another week or more.
