Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

GUEST COACH: Toby Harrah, the Tigers' roving minor league hitting instructor, was with the Tigers on Friday. He was in uniform for early batting practice and regular batting practice.

General manager Dave Dombrowski said that all of the Tigers' roving instructors drop in on the major league club during the season. "We ask them to come in once or twice a year to spend some time with our big league guys," Dombrowski said. "They can assist here by all means. But they also need to know those guys (the big leaguers) from a comparison perspective."

During early batting practice, Harrah was with Brennan Boesch. Until Thursday, Boesch was the Tiger locked in the deepest struggle. His two-hit game Thursday was his first in nearly two weeks. Boesch's homer Friday night was his first in three weeks. It started his second straight multihit game. Hmm....

Hernan Perez Called Up From Single-A: Tigers Confirm Second Base Officially a Dumpster Fire.
from WalkoffWoodwardTigersblog

His career minor league on base percentage is .287. His slugging is .325
In 172 games and 742 chances at second base he has 26 errors, or a .965 fielding percentage. While that’s not great that’s also not terrible. In 253 games and 1213 chances at shortstop he has 69 errors, or a .943 fielding percentage.

I could do that and I'm 3 times older than him.

Jackson activated from DL, plus other moves.

Still waiting for one more move to send down a player and make room for Jackson. The Tigers did not announce one right away, but will do so before this afternoon’s game. That could hinge on Octavio Dotel’s inflamed elbow and how close he is to a return, and how limited the Tigers bullpen is today.

If Perez gets in the game, he'll be the 21st position player to take the field for Tigers this season. They've already made 25 roster moves.

The Tigers have used 19 different pitchers, seven different starters ? would have been eight, if Below's start hadn't been rained out.

The Tigers have used DL 8 times, the paternity list, restricted list and bereavement list once each, and DFA'ed 3 guys, released another.

Brayan Villarreal has been brought up 3 times, sent down twice; Worth up twice, down twice ? once move was one for the other.

Tigers option Jose Ortega to Triple-A Toledo, as the back end of the move to bring Austin Jackson back.
