Draft day pipes

I am good RB is not as valuable as it used to be even in fantasy.

RBs are even more valuable now days than in the past. There is only 6 RBs last year that had over 200 fantasy points in most leagues and only 11 that had 170+. And you have to start 2 RBs, so the position is at a high premium. The Top RBs generally always score more than their WR counterparts. Plus there are so many more options at WR, thanks to the amount of passing in the league and of course teams using 2 to 3 WRs often.

I won a lot of leagues last year and only 1 did I have a top RB. Most I had QB's and WR. Good sales pitch but I like my WR's

I have to agree about RB getting 2 good starters is almost a must. WR are deep, very deep.

Seriously the top RBs are special because their is a nice dropoff after them. If you can grab two like I try to every year, then you have a leg up on the rest of the league. If you only have 1 good RB, then your other RB spot is bleeding points away. And WRs are so very deep

same thing can be said about the top 3 QB's or top 2 TE's, Zoom. Just a matter of where you draft on how you have to build your team.

It was already broken down on espn, though, that the biggest edge on a points per week basis is getting one of the top 3 QB's over the average starter at that position. Then the top 2 TE's was second, then Top 3 RB's was third.

But then you realize that we need 2 starting RB so that puts that at top IMO and a top TE, even though you need one, get less points over all. As far as QB, more than 3 will get similar points.

only a select few RB really matter in PPR.....5 or 6 TEs and numerous WR trump all in PPR....and with the settings set for QBs to be on equal plain with 6 pts for TDs instead of 4....the top tier QB was the way to go early.

The only RB I would have taken before Rodgers, Brees, Brady, and Stafford is Rice. Which is why I took Staff 8th in rd 1 then took a TE and a WR.

I think part of Zoom's argument is he wants to sell one of his RB's at premium price and so if he gets someone to buy in he get a better trade. Which is why I said nice sales pitch.

or Foster..

but I went with the QB #1 strategy and married him to his TE nad also drafted Gates for my Flex..another heavily targeted guy with many red zone looks....I could be weak at RB #2 with Beanie Wells but I took Robert Turbin and Evan Royster also so we shall see I guess.

Gronkowski scored more points than all but one RB last year in PPR leagues. Only 4 RB's scored more than the #2 TE, Graham. 13 RB's scored more points than the #3 TE. Getting one of those two top TE's is basically like getting an additional stud #1 WR at a position where nobody else can get one!

The top QB outscored the top RB by 113 points, lol, for a per week difference of 7.1 pts. 5 QB's outscored the #1 RB.

The difference between the #1 QB and the #10 QB was 205 points for a per week difference of +12.8 pts per week.

The difference between the #1 TE and the #10 TE was 162 pts for a per week average of +10.1 pts.

The difference between the #1 RB and the #10 RB was 154 pts for a per week average of +9.6 pts.

The difference between the number 5 RB and the number 20 RB was 86 points for a per week difference of 5.3 pts. Congrats, you get an additional 5 pts per week by drafting a RB in the 2nd round vs waiting and drafting one in the 8th!

RB's aren't nearly as important as they used to be and taking one of the top 3 studs doesn't give you nearly the advantage that it does of getting one of the top 3 QB's or top 2 TE's.

When I wrote my previous post I forgot we were PPR here. So disregard..

or McCoy. He's huge in a PPR league...

As for the setup on this league (QB heavy), i was taking Staff at 9, but he was stolen right under my nose. I took CJ2k, waited on my QB and took Eli a bit later. I'll take the 4,000 yards and probable 30+ TDs all day......

I would say sorry for stealing Staff but I am really not.

I had first pick in my draft with passing TD's also worth 6 and went Staff..

A power surge fucked up my macbook... :argh:I have no idea what my member name and password are so I have no idea how i'm going to change my lineup until I get my macbook fixed.
