Draft Thread 2020

My pre combine mock:

1) Chase Young DE...we find a way to make it happen.
2) Troy Dye LB. Need to find a cover LB at some point.
3) KJ Hamler WR. I want a WR in rd 2....but just dont see the value. KJ in rd 3 is just as talented and more explosive than anyone taken in rd 2....without the higher projection.

Chase Young Gone at 2, no trade down:
1) Jeff Okudah, CB
2) Terrel Lewis, OLB
3) KJ Hamler, WR

Chase Young Gone at 2 and if you trade down...i think you end up with a draft very similar to one without a trade down and you obviously get more value with additional picks. Who the trade partner is obviously determines where youd be picking which is almost impossible to mock....but say its additional 2nd rd pick id look at at an icing on the cake pick like JK Dobbins or Jonathon Taylor RB. If its an additonal first rd pick say with Miami id look at any number of players that can help your defense: Delpit S, Murray LB, Epenesa DE, Raekwon Davis DE. Or whatever OT falls down the board.

Mid round sleeper pick is the DE from Wake Forrest if he decides to come out....red shirt Jr. - Carlos Basham Jr

I like Breeze (S) for Oregon and Cephus (WR) for Wisconsin. Not sure where they are suppose to go in there draft but they are good football players.

Someone i have really liked all year is Lynn Bowden Jr from Kentucky . Would be a very solid pick in the 3rd round if he was there .

Detroit Lions Breakdown Podcast Episode #135: We?re Onto the Offseason. 55 minutes.

The Lions season mercifully ended on Sunday with a 23-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The team heads into the offseason with a 3-12-1 record and the 3rd overall pick in the NFL Draft. This week Erik and Joe begin to discuss the coaching turnover and the impending player turnover.

DC Paul Pasqualoni and OL coach Jeff Davidson avoid the firing squad by ?stepping away from coaching?.

4 other assistant coaches, and 2 strength and conditioning coaches were not so lucky.

Who might replace Pasqualoni at defensive coordinator.

Contract status of every Lions player heading into the offseason.

11 players were added to the roster via Reserve/Futures contracts, added 3 more the next day.

For the season Matthew Stafford and Trey Flowers received the highest PFF marks.

Kenny Golladay sets a new career-high in receiving yards and leads the NFL in touchdown receptions.

Damon Harrison may retire.

Tracy Walker finishes the season with over 100 tackles.

The Lions unrestricted free agents, ranked.

Graham Glasgow? re-sign him or let him walk?

Lions will pick 3rd in 2020 draft.

The Lions will coach in the Senior Bowl.

It is once again possible the Lions will end up on HBO?s ?Hard Knocks?.

Jeff Risdon penned his initial Lions 7 round Mock Draft.

Pride Of Detroit Lions Ask POD: Offseason mailbag returns!
It?s the offseason and we?re here to guide you through it.

It?s officially the offseason for the Detroit Lions and that means the healing can begin. Detroit has already rid themselves of several coaches, which is (hopefully) just one of many drastic changes to the team in 2020.

With hope now slowly creeping into the fanbase again, it?s time to return to our regular weekly mailbag.

If you?re unfamiliar with the mailbag, most of the questions will be answered in the final segment of our weekly podcast?which we stream live over our Twitch channel every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. However, any leftover questions will be rolled over into a mailbag article sometime early next week. It?s the offseason and we need content. That? where you step in.

So in the comment section below, send us any and all of your questions. We?ll gladly answer any Lions questions you have, but we?ll answer questions on literally any topic. We love getting silly, talking about food or movies or anything but wrestling.

Submit your questions in the comment section below or via Twitter using the hashtag #AskPOD.
