Draft

LOL. I'm pretty proud of my Round 1 pick. Pre-combine Ansah was going in the 15-20s and Moore and Werner were the top guys. The only thing that saddens me is that Warford may be off their board due to penciling our 1st round tackle there. Speaking of scoops here is a name you might be hearing attached to us at 5 in the future Lane Johnson. I have him = or a hair below Joeckel and Fisher.

i had ansah as a trade down target only cause i wasnt sure how the fact that he was a back up at byu would go over. His combine workout basically put that out of everyones mind apparently lol. Hes definitely a top 10 pick now. nice call cheeno.

we think hes going all defense and he goes all offense?....its happened before. just sayin. As much as i hate to admit it. Fisher>Hopkins would be a good draft lol. We score 100...other team scores 150.....butatleast itd be fun to watch.

I was against drafting one of the two OL but after thinking of the possibilities we would have with one of those two would be limitless. They would instantly take over LT and kick Backus to the RT. Move Reiff inside and Nagy at C and that is a pretty good O-Line. I did not see either Joekel or Fisher play in college, what type of player are they? Are they complete, pass blockers, or geared more towards run blocking?

This is my own observations. Both stud pass blockers. Fisher prefers to jump set rushers which could make him succeptible to good speed rushers in the NFL. Joeckel is a fluid passblocker, smooth kickstep, needs to stay a bit lower and doesnt deliver the punch Fisher is capable of. eats up speed rushers though. Fisher is a better run blocker than Joeckel in my opinion but it could be the system they ran at AM which has some similarities to ours in that it is not really a blow people off the ball full back pulling guard smash mouth scheme. It is similar to the pistol draw we run where you create lanes by turning shoulders or taking guys out of their gap by pushing them by (think Avril). Fisher can be a mauler. That may be why he's surpassing Joeckel in some "expert" mocks. Both studs and capable run/pass guys or they wouldn't be there. Joeckel gave up three sacks all last year in the SEC. Not sure about Fisher. If you are into OL at five check out Lane Johnson, dude may rise into that territory, think he's gone by 10 at least.

Fisher is said to be a clone of former chippewa Joe Staley. Just solid all around game, really athletic feet.

Eagles just signed Williams.....Milliner MIGHT be there at 5.

Milliner is a Lion if he is there.

Almost a lock, how do you figure that? Because Philly signed secondary help?

that and their oline is awful. Going with Jordan or Ansah means they give up on brandon graham...a high rd pick i think they still like.

Graham isn't chips guy plus he's been injured his entire career minus the half of the season last year he played well. I see chip building that team the way Pete built Seattle.

I wonder what it would take to get a guy like Jason Smith?

He's like the opposite of J. Backus, injury prone. Rather go get Brandon Moore.

True, just not a lot of options left. And we can say all day that a tackle is a lock at #4, but we all know it's going to be BPA as always, so it would be nice to have a body to play LT before the draft.

Of course, Reiff was drafted to be the LT of the future, so maybe thats still the answer. I've heard a lot of talking heads say the Lions are moving him inside, but I haven't heard anyone in management say it.
