From ESPN NFL Rumors: "One of the toughest shells to crack this pre-draft season has been what, exactly, the Arizona Cardinals are going to do with the No. 7 overall pick. Those outside the team believe they need to upgrade at QB, yet HC Bruce Arians has said he'd be comfortable starting the 2013 campaign with Drew Stanton under center."

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really wanna see him get a chance. I honestly think he will do okay. Definitely not the future there, but is miles ahead of what they trotted out there last year and he will surprise some people.

If hes the opening day starting I'm saying

3,800 passing yards, 450 rushing, 20 TD's, and 14 INT's.

Arians will air it out and I wouldn't be surprised if he topped the yardage numbers if he starts all 16. Hes gonna make his fair share of bad plays, but overall I say he does well.

I can't see it. I liken him to Tarvaris Jackson; a decent backup but the minute something moderately better comes along dude is taking a backseat. I wonder if he's bitter with that stigma...........

Smoke another one. You believe what Arians says about Drew? lmfao...

Thats why they're looking at Palmer now. No chance on Earth the Cardinals go with Stanton as a starter. Ill bet the mortgage on it.....

I would love for the Cardinals to roll with Stanton for the entire year.

That way when the experiment goes down as an epic failure, all the Sparty fans will finally shut up about him.

I seriously don't understand the love he gets. Ok, he went to State, but C'mon!!!

And detroit1811's possible stat line?? I'll take 2 of whatever he's on....holy shit.

Look what Luck did as a rookie with him. Thats with a shaky O-Line VICK BALLARD at RB, and the only legit receiver a 33 year old Reggie Wayne. Arians is a good offensive mind and with a year already under his belt in this system Drew has the upper hand.

I have no love for Michigan State has nothing to do with that I just think Drew is better then people give him credit for. He has never been given a chance and I think he will this year and he will surprise people. Obviously hes not the future of the Cardinals, but I think he will show hes good enough to be a spot starter or stop gap player somewhere and a solid back-up.

Luck throw for almost 4,400 yards and 23 TD's as a rookie with a less talented offense then Arizona. You can call Luck whatever you want, but IMO his rookie year wasn't that good, was a lot of garbage yards and a ton of passing (like Stafford this year). I do think Luck will get a ton better and will be among the elite QB's, but his rookie year was overblown. STILL look at the stats he put up.

With Fitz, Floyd, Roberts, and Housler he has a nice group there along with whatever the add in the draft. Maybe I am off my rocker, but I always thought Drew had some potential and I'd take him over the likes of Sanchez, Henne, Weeden, and quite a few of the other bottom of the barrel starting QB's.

Stanton is not Luck.

No he is not Luck nowhere near him in fact. Never said he was. In a pass first offense with good coaching and good players around him Stanton will surprise people.

Dude, get your head examined. Luck is a stud QB. That's why he put up the numbers he did. Stop it now with the comparisons to Stanton...you're going to hurt yourself.

Seriously thats two people now go back to my post and take out what I said and show me where I compared the two. The only thing I said about Luck is his rookie year was not as good as most people think. He played well, but that that great, hell he was the 3rd best rookie QB. Comparing Stanton to Luck is like comparing Peyton or Brady to someone like Flacco or Freeman. Say what you want, but you people are acting like what you are saying is fact yet it is just an opinion just like mine. Hopefully he gets that chance to prove one of us right and one wrong.

If they roll with Stanton then Fitz should just refuse to show up. Not based on the fact that stanton is terrible but the fact that Arizona consistently refuses to give him a QB. Havent had one for a while and they keep drafting trash later in the draft. Now you are talking about going with a career backup and third stringer. GENIUS!!!!

For a rookie he was pretty darn good.

For a rookie he was pretty darn good.

For a ROOKIE he played well. If he was a 3rd year guy and put up those stats people wouldn't think twice. Let me throw out his stats.

4,374 passing yards, 23 TD's, 18 INT's, a 54.1% completion rate and a 76.5 rating

Throw is 5 lost fumbles too, 10 in total.

He had the 5th most attempts in the league last year.

I think Luck is gonna be really good, but he has a long way to go and people act like hes already there, hes not.

Luck was considered pro ready going into the draft. He completely was putting up the best rookie QB season I have ever seen. In all seriousness he was incredible this year and if they had more pieces his numbers could have gone up. He will be a very good player because of the way he plays the game. Strong arm, good accuracy. Once he adjusts to the speed of the game he will be a top guy.

But he's not a 3rd year guy. He had a good year. No one is acting anything.

You keep saying Stanton just needs a shot. He's had plenty. Detroit didn't think to keep him. No one decided to offer him a job as a starter. The dude sinks.

Thats great to have an opinion. Good job...

Bottomline...Stanton fn sucks balls. Its why hes bounced around from team to team. Dont give us that horseshit that he was never given a chance anywhere. The guy wasnt even going to beat out Sanchez or Tebow in NY.....thats pathetic.
