Election Aftermath

There has beens some pointed criticism of the 1619 project (and what's her name specifically) from the left. So I actually agree that she should not be receiving tenure here.

the World Socialist Website had a long piece that interviewed actual historians and concluded the idea that the American Revolution was fought to preserve slavery was bullshit.

But if she's a racist bomb thrower, so are the bums that write for the Daily Wire.

What else could this piece be? If the Daily Wire really had a problem with No-show grades and bullshit classes, they should take a shot at every college athletic department in this country, or the way the Federalist Society promotes under-qualified lawyers to clerkships and judgeships based on their ideology alone... but no, they won't piss in the wrong toilets...

It's probably because UNC offered this fraud a tenured professorship and they were caught running a fake school in one of the most high profile cases of academic fraud. Not every school has been caught in one of the biggest academic fraud scandals and also offered a tenured professorship to someone responsible for publishing perhaps the most ahistorical history pieces.

But since you bring it up, when you bitch and moan about a specific case or issue do you hold yourself to the same standard? How about your sources - how come you post articles that don't take on every single institution that also has been affected by that issue? I can't think of a single one of your whiny posts about the child molestation scandal within the Catholic Church that mentions anything about the issue in the public school system or even in any other religious community. Is it because you think that by attacking the source you could summarily dismiss any references from them going forward?

uh oh, somebody better go check on spartanmack:
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (CBS) ? A South Jersey man accused of harassing his Black neighbors is behind bars. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside of 45-year-old Edward Cagney Mathews? home in Mount Laurel after video of his racist rant against his neighbor went viral on Monday.

I live in North Jersey and I was in Michigan all last week so none of my neighbors (all of whom I get along with very well) would have been able to harass me, racially or otherwise if they saw fit. Thank you for your concern for my safety but it's unnecessary because as I said before, I get along swimmingly with all of my neighbors.

If I were you, of all the people on this board, I'd be far more concerned about your neighbors since you've demonstrated time and again you're the only racist person who posts here.

I would support DeSantis over trump for 2024

Still early. Recent poll

I hope Republican primary voters are going to want a more traditional personality, but also not directly from the tired GOP mainstream establishment.

There also is the hot chick from the sticks.

Maybe Veep.

She is in about the same league as Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

saw that poll a few weeks back - would like to see Pompeo's numbers climb. Still like Ted Cruz who I supported in the 2016 primaries but I don't think he has the personality to win over enough people. Pompeo would be a good VP choice for a guy like DeSantis.

Trump is too polarizing I'm afraid, I've said all along give me a version of trump that isn't an asshole, that supports all the same things and I'd support that candidate. Desantis may be that candidate. Trump, Cruz, Johnson, Pompeo the hot chick from the sticks and others would all have major roles in the Admin of course. But Trump in charge of trade negations, and border security.

Pompeo has been elected three times to the HOR.

We?ll see.

If the R CA primary were two weeks from today, I would probably register to my old party to vote for DeSantis- I think he?s been the best leader during the pandemic because, you know, science. Also would definitely want to vote against Trump if he would be seeking the nomination again.

Would probably register back to no party preference the next day and vote 3rd party again in the general because, you know, California.

Were I a political consultant, GOP needs to have a woman on the ticket in 2024. In reality, it matter not where Ron DeSantis or Ronald McDonald is president.

I'm sure I am derailing the election aftermath thread but I didn't want to start a new thread.

New child tax credits are awesome for poor people.

CNN article. https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/12/politics/irs-child-tax-credit-outreach/index.html

I love the way the article starts out.

Melinda Williams, a married mother of five, didn't think her family qualified for the child tax credit since they don't earn enough to file income tax returns. So the New York City resident didn't pay much attention to Congress' historic increase of the benefit earlier this year.

But then her pastor, Bishop Mitchell Taylor of Center of Hope International, last week told her that the expanded credit could be worth $3,000 for each of her kids for 2021.

Williams plans to use the funds to cover some expenses, as well as school supplies and clothing for her two girls and three boys, who range in age from 7 to 17 -- and she and her husband also hope to sock away some money to pay for college and buy a home one day.

"It's anxiety reducing," said Williams, a stay-at-home mom , of what the new benefits mean for her. "It's not stressing, wondering what you are going to do if the money runs out before the month is over."

Well...NO SHIT. The money will run out when you are a stay at home mom with 5 fucking kids. Don't make enough to file a tax return...WTF?? Go get a job you dead beat.

Well I mentioned Kristi Noem in #745 for Veep.

Or I referenced her I should say.

Now now Tom that's not very WOKE of you. Some people just aren't afforded the same opportunities don't ya know. Too many white people with white privilege. The dems have it all figured out though. nothing a forced inoculation useless eater program in exchange for cheese can't fix.

I used to be convinced of that as well but I'm no longer so certain. No matter what woman or minority the GOP puts on the ticket, the media will discount their status as either/both and find a way to paint them as the worst possible person for the job. Probably better to put forth the best person/people for the ticket regardless of their victimhood status as determined by race and/or gender.

If one of those people is a woman or racial minority, I do look forward to pointing out the hypocrisy of the left as they undoubtedly deny them the victimhood status they should receive based on whatever group identity he/she would get as a Dem.

Well?apparently not.

Not with new and historic child tax credit it won?t.

Don?t file a return?still get a tax credit.

I guess she just files the return?and gets a check from the IRS?

That?s innovative.

The Cuba situation is providing DeSantis another opportunity to demonstrate how much more qualified he is than these clowns currently in charge.

the "building collapsing" situation seems like more of a realistic threat to Florida people.

He doesn't seem concerned with that though

this one gets the highest rating of 4 straw men.
